Noddfa (refuge/sanctuary) offgrid woodland retreat

Noddfa was built in the summer of 2020 initially as a writer's retreat for the owner. It is located in a magical spot deep in the 60 acres of private woodland belonging to Coed Hills Rural Artspace, a low impact community of friendly, artistically-inclined, wonderful people - 14 of which live scattered about the site in their own hand-built dwellings. Noddfa is very much the owners personal space with lots of evidence of his life and interests. It offers comfortable off-grid peace and seclusion.

It is set in just under 2 acres of grounds which it shares with our other holiday let Blackthorn Lodge. Situated in the rural village of Coed y Paen. Only 5-minute walk to the Carpenters Arms country pub and restaurant and 10 minutes’ downhill walk to Llandegfedd Lake’s Visitor and Water sports Centre which also has a lakeside café and walking trails.

The Roost Merthyr Tydfil is a small gated cabin site tucked away in a quiet spot. Arosfa is our self-contained ensuite cabin made for bikers, hikers and outdoor explorers. From The Roost, ride straight onto the Taff Trail (route 8) and reach BikePark Wales in 15 minutes, or its a short drive into the Brecon Beacons National Park. At the end of a busy day, unwind by the firepit. Our cabins are cosy, practical and dog-friendly - with your own secure bike/gear storage and awesome facilities.
