Step on the sand and turn right, and you'll enter a beach area where you can enjoy a leisurely walk on a beautiful uncrowded beach. Tropic Shores Apartments are located 200 yards from the best beach in Carpinteria, and directly across from the Salt Marsh Park area. The town of Carpinteria is pretty small, measuring approximately 1 mile square. There are at least fifty restaurants, and many cute little shops, all within easy walking of your apartment. If you're not familiar with "Carp", I recommend you plan a couple hours for a leisurely walking tour of the town. We all have our favorite places and I'm sure you'll find a few of your own. Carpinteria beaches are the highlight, and we have the best beach a couple minute walk from your door. If you plan to hang around Carpinteria, you can literally leave your car parked the entire stay. You can walk almost anywhere in "Carp" in about 20 minutes...30 minutes max. I recently took a full walk of the town, from our door, through town, to the state parks and beach, and home again...and it took 50 minutes. There's also a local trolley bus which you can ride for fun, or if your feet get a little tired. For traveling North to Santa Barbara or Solvang, or South to Ventura or Los Angeles, you will need your car. Amtrak also departs from the Carpinteria station, only a 10 minute walk away.
