The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

Our property is conveniently located near stunning springs: Rainbow River-12 miles,offering clear waters and abundant wildlife Crystal River-18 miles,known for its manatee encounters and underwater caves Homosassa Spring- 21 miles,escape with serene surroundings and manatee sightings Chassahowitzka- 29 miles, featuring pristine waters and lush surroundings Devils Den-35 mi., underground spring perfect for snorkeling and diving Weeki Wachee-44 mi. Unfortunately, the giant tub is not operational.

Location, location, location! When visiting Florida a central location is vital to being able to see all that Florida has to offer. Our newly built home in 2025 is located on a quiet street in Citrus Springs and makes an excellent home base. Our home is minutes from Rainbow Springs and Three Sisters Springs for a swim with the manatees. A daytrip to the beach is just minutes from our home and a trip to Disney is just a car ride away. Many excellent dining options are all located nearby as well!

Bring your boat and family to this great place with lots of room for fun. We are located only 4.5 miles from Hunter Springs, 10 miles to Ft. Island Gulf Beach, 7 miles to Pete’s Pier boat ramp, 11 miles to Rainbow Springs River, 6miles to Lake Rousseau, and 6 miles from the shops, restaurants and entertainment of downtown Crystal River. The house is located on 2.7 peaceful acres, that features a play ground, fire pit, picnic area, games, and plenty of room for relaxing or having fun. 🤩

This suite has 1 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, living room with a sleeper sofa. Laundry room & trash access through a shared hallway.
