The Blue Yard

The Blue Yard is a tiny home on the beautiful drive-on island of Aughinish, 12 km outside the sea-side town of Kinvara, named one of the top ten beautiful villages in Ireland. Aughinish Island is accessed by a 1 km causeway (not tidal) and is an area of unspoilt beauty with local pebble beaches a five minute walk away and the sandy beach of Traught a ten min drive away (8 km). You'll be staying on the Clare-Galway border with both the wildness of the Burren and Galway city at your doorstep.

The apartment is a converted brewery with views towards the Ardclooney River and the hills above. 4 miles from the picturesque riverside town of Killaloe/Ballina and pubs, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, markets, fishing and watersports/beaches of Lough Derg.

Welcome to your Luxury Shepherd’s hut, perfect for a winter Burren adventure, and a cosy stop on your road trip! The hut sits on a 1 acre country garden with views of the Burren mountains. It has central heating, a kitchen, bathroom, Wi-Fi & the best mattress you ever slept on. We welcome couples, road trippers, solo travellers, visitors to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway Christmas market. There is a chimnea stove outside to stay up late & watch the stars. Parking is right beside the hut.

A lovely hiking trail is just up the hill past St. Patrick's Church. Located in the village of New Quay on the scenic Wild Atlantic Way, we are on the route to Ballyvaughan and the Ciffs of Moher. (A car is necessary - we are in a very beautiful rural area with very limited public transport.)
