Gardener's Cottage with Stunning Views

Situated in woodland and fields is a small c18th farm with a beautiful light open-plan Cottage and spectacular views of National Trust Gibside and the Column to Liberty. Wild swimming, cycling and endless walks lie just beyond its gate. One of five dwellings, the Cottage has a private entrance and exclusive use of a small south-facing garden. Night skies are spectacular and often punctuated with calling owls and the rustle of hedgehogs & badgers. Bird spotting and fishing is another delight.

Bodos Hut sits in the heart of our woodland offering immersive sounds of wildlife, privacy & a relaxing experience. From the luxury of the cosy cabin, you can enjoy a dining experience inside the Hut or step outside and dine amongst the nature of the woodland. Derecroft Glamping Luxury Lodgepods sit on a hilltop near the village of Lanchester, with spectacular views across County Durham countryside. Breath-taking views of Durham Valley farmland can be spied from all the windows of the ultra-spacious pods. Each sleeps up to four people in total comfort, with hot showers in the en-suite bathroom (bed linen, towels, bathroom products, robes and slippers are all provided). In the dining and seating area, there’s ample space for chilled downtime.

The Old Post Office

Set in the quaint Northumbrian village of Hedley on the Hill, The Old Post Office provides a fantastic traditional-come-modern place to stay. Ideal for both active family holidays or a quiet couples retreat all year round. With underfloor heating and log burner inside and South facing garden and patio outside, the property has ample space to relax. With a modern bathroom and waterfall shower, upstairs you'll also find two comfy bedrooms with views over both the Tyne and Derwent Valley.

Farmhouse annex in Northumberland village

The Old Farmhouse is a period property in the village of Slaley. A separate annex offers guests a sitting room with wood burning stove and a large family bedroom. A separate kitchen provides full electric oven with induction hob, fridge, microwave, and a washing machine. The Rose and Crown, is a community pub/restaurant located in the village and there is also a small community shop. It is only 1 mile to Slaley Hall with its excellent restaurant, leisure facilities and golf course.

Swinburne Castle

Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. In the mornings you can look forward to a delicious breakfast in the formal dining room. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use.

Only 3 miles from the village of Lanchester, 10 miles from historical Durham City and 15 miles from Newcastle, The Byre is ideally placed to enjoy everything this wonderful area has to offer, from cities and the coast to local attractions such as Beamish and Hadrian's Wall to lovely local scenic walks on the Lanchester Valley Walk and farm shops.

The Oaks

The Oaks is attached to our home. It has its own private entrance from the outside and internal doors are locked. It is an ensuite room set out like a hotel room. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR FAMILY HOME AND IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROMANTIC/ PASSIONATE NIGHT AWAY BUT FOR GUESTS WANTING A PEACEFUL GETAWAY.. Wooden stairs lead up to this first floor bedroom that has its own decked area with outside furniture to enjoy the fantastic views.

The Annexe is self contained at the rear of Pontop Hall with its own single parking space. The Hall is a grade 2* Listed Building, built as early as 1600. Recently restored the property has all the modern comforts you would expect in a home. You can enjoy a tranquil environment with some excellent walks on your doorstep and in the local area.
