Fremont is a neighborhood filled with culture, great food, craft drinks, events, Sunday Market year round (2 blocks away), the famous Summer Solstice parade, Oktoberfest, publict art, Google, Adobe, Tableau, Theo's Chocolates, the Foundry, Fremont Studios, incredible landmark art and pretty much a constant celebration. It is vibrant, alive and fun.
  • Private setting with a great space!! Our family of 4 fit comfortably snuggled up on the couches watching hulu movies! It was super clean, attention to detail, modern design, fresh and bright! Katrina communication was on point and amazing hospitality with flexible accommodations! 10/10 would recommend! Will be on my list of stays when back in Seattle! Great suggestion for thanksgiving brunch too!

  • We loved staying at Katrina's place! The apartment was accommodating and we appreciated the special touches like a complimentary bottle of wine upon check in. The neighborhood was lovely, situated right near the canal and great restaurants and shops.

  • Katrina's place was perfect in every way! Great location, lovely space, comfortable beds, and great communication and check-in/out process. We would definitely stay again!

  • In short: my visit was perfect. I was visiting Fremont for work, traveling by myself. I can't imagine having found a better place to stay than Katrina's place. Location was perfect, check-in was a breeze, the bed was very comfortable, and the studio was well-appointed. Communication with Katrina was great. I'll happily stay again. Thank you!

    Joel2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, excellent water view, great places to eat in walking distance. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The stairs up to the loft are a bit steep if you have big or heavy luggage, but there is a handrail so it's still safe.

  • Great morning spot. Perfect weekender. Great air and windows. Good sleeping spot, with everything you need. Center of the universe.

Beautiful modern townhouse with a private backyard.
Stay in the heart of Fremont, in this modern townhouse with a wide-open living room and full kitchen, a beautiful backyard garden with a BBQ, and an overlooking balcony. A private bedroom, along with access to free street parking a block away. Downtown Fremont and the waterfront is two blocks away!
  • Staying at John's place was great. Super excellent location.

    Lauren2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • John is a super friendly host! His duplex is centrally located, only a 5 min walk to central Fremont. Quiet as well (it's at the back of the complex, not on the street).

    Denyse2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • John was a good host. He has a great apartment, in a great spot!

    Heather2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and space!

    Cinth2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • I'll start with the positives: this home is in a great location/neighborhood. Walking distance to some of the best spots in town. This is a lovely home with great common areas and easy access to street parking. Common areas were clean. Access to the home was easy with the keypad. The downsides: Though common areas were clean, the bedroom was dingy, dusty and the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Guests are responsible for changing the sheets after their stay and putting them in the laundry basket upstairs, which was very strange to me and was something I've never experienced at another Airbnb. Though strange, that wouldn't have been an issue in and of itself for me had the price been cheaper or if the host didn't charge a cleaning fee. Not sure why there is a $25 cleaning fee for the place when the bedroom looks like it does. There was also only one pillow on the bed when I had booked for two guests, but found another in a pile in the bedroom's closet. The other major issue: We weren't the only guests — there is another bedroom on the third floor which the host rents out as well. This wouldn't have been an issue for me if we'd been given a heads up, but when you run into someone on a Saturday morning who asks you if you are the host after you've been there (and left your valuables there) for two days that's not ideal. That being said, also be aware that there is no lock on the bedroom door.

    Taylor2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at John's a few times now - everything is easy to find and he is quick to respond!

    Sarah2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, worked brilliantly for me as a lone traveller there for work so not spending much time in the house. Downstairs room is compact but met my needs. Noise travels down from the lounge area even when guests aren't being especially noisy, wasn't a problem for me on my own but depending on how noisy/late up the other Airbnb guests are it could cause others problems. Didn't mind changing the sheets when I left as it helps keep this room available for Airbnb and there aren't they many options in the area. Good value though for the area, lovely touches with the board games and console available to play, will happily stay again next I'm in Fremont. Thanks John, hope to meet you next time.

    David2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at John's place for 12 nights. Although I wasn't there often it was the perfect spot for my stay. Can't be the location for the price. Lot's of great cafe's and restaurants near by. Close to public transit and cheap Uber ride downtown if needed.

Super fast wifi, basic cable including NFL network on a 50” 4K Smart TV. Chemex coffee for your thirst needs. Artist’s desk for work or creativity. Convection oven+stove top for cooking. Weighted anxiety blanket on the bed!

Super lively neighborhood that thankfully stays pretty quiet after hours on weekdays. Location is everything with this place! You will love Fremont, the center of the universe! There are so many great shops, bars, sights, and restaurants within walking distance!
  • Rhonda is an extremely responsive host! She was friendly and shared tips with me for my visit. The apartment is in a perfect location next to shopping and restaurants. It's in a historic building, which is cool. The space is small and simple, but Rhonda has made the most of it with good furnishings.

    Eve2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great location!! Rhonda had great tips for exploring the area and we loved the space!

  • The place is clean, cozy, and well located in Fremont

    Joey2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check-in, and a nice comfortable place. Location is excellent.

    Joshua2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's place is exactly what she describes it to be - AMAZING location, close to so many bars, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, etc. We were only there for one night and didn't spend much time in the space at all, but it was just what we needed. The weighted blanket is such a luxurious added touch. The place is a bit old and worn, but that wasn't a problem for us. I would recommend Rhonda's place!

    Amy2019-09-07T00:00:00Z

Affordable, refurbished condo directly in the heart of Fremont. A walker's paradise (Walk Score of 97)! This is the best value Airbnb in the whole area. Don't take my word for it - read my reviews.
This condo is a "garden unit" with plenty of natural light in the mornings (windows face East). Newly renovated, the unit features hardwood floors, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a wide rain shower-head in the bathroom. Here's the deal: my listing is affordable because it is for a distinct type of guest. Are you looking for a comfy sleeper sofa to crash on? Don't waste your money on hostels or hotels in the area. And don't settle for sharing a room with a rickety bunk bed. Live it up in a modern condo tucked away just steps from the action! The sleeper sofa opens up to be a Queen-sized bed at 80" x 55" so it can accommodate 2 people. I have a down comforter, pillows, and fresh sheets every time. To be completely clear, this is my primary residence. I sleep in my private bedroom, and I will respect your privacy in my living room in the evenings. You can imagine it as your own studio apartment in the heart of Seattle. Do you have a car? There is a designated parking spot available in the back of the building, which is protected by an electronic gate (I'll provide you with the code). Free street parking is also available. The unit has a back patio that you can use to enjoy the fresh air and sunlight (yes we get sun in Seattle!). Camping chairs are available to lounge outside if the weather is nice!
The condo sits 1 city block away from N 36th Street, which is the main "strip" of Fremont. It's about a mile-long stretch of quirky coffee shops, good eats, boutique clothing stores, breweries, and even a chocolate factory...there's a lot to see! On Sundays, there is the Fremont Sunday Market, which never disappoints. The famous Burke-Gilman Trail is which is a 27-mile biking/walking trail that cuts through Fremont filled with scenic views There's some quirky sights to see, such as a 16-ft statue of Lenin, or a famous art sculpture of a monster crushing a VW Beetle under the Aurora Bridge called the Fremont Troll.
  • Gabe was perfectly hospitable. He was always timely with his responses. The condo was cozy, stylish, and clean. I couldn’t have been happier with my stay.

  • I enjoyed my stay and I definitely recommend it to other people. Huge TV adds lot of value. Place is located in very good and clean area.

    Anna2019-09-23T00:00:00Z

    Gabor2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The best airbnb I ever had! I brought my small size Poodle to Seattle to celebrate my birthday. Staying with Gabe made my trip even better. Amazing host, beautiful home, and wonderful location! It’s a great spot I will stay here every time when I visit Seattle.

    Jie Yi2019-07-15T00:00:00Z

An inviting charmer in the heart of walking friendly Fremont. 900 sq. ft. newly remodeled with all new appliances. A great front porch for relaxing in the open air, full kitchen with dishwasher, laundry room, wifi and 55 inch TV. Queen and Full bed. Convenient access to PCC (groceries) and dozens of restaurants and bars all within a few blocks. For the full Guidebook with categories of local attractions including addresses visit; https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/20137424/Guidebook
The house was built in 1900 and has been in my family for almost 60 years. It has a beautiful light-filled bay window that overlooks the street and gets great afternoon sunshine. The front porch has been expanded to allow groups of 4-5 people to sit and enjoy interacting with the active neighborhood street. Within 2-3 blocks of the house the neighborhood has an extensive collection of art, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, music venues, grocery store, and an elementary school with newly remodeled playground, and Theo Chocolate Factory offers delicious tours daily. Greenlake is an easy mile and a half walk away - just walk to the Woodland park zoo (1 mile) then across upper Woodland Park to the lake.
Two of the more popular attractions in the neighborhood are the large statue of Lenin and the Troll Sculpture. Both of which are within about 3 blocks of the house. Like the rest of Seattle I really enjoy morning coffee at one of the local coffee shops. Cafe Ladro is my favorite, but Fremont Coffee has a great homey feel and you can always find Starbucks, but Milstead is a wonderful local alternative. In the evening I enjoy happy hours at Fremont Brewery, Shawn O’Donnells, Norm’s (dog friendly) or the Red Door. If I’m in the mood for live music The High Dive and Nectar have a great selection of bands playing nightly.
  • Great location! Clean and affordable. Jim was a great host and responds quickly to messages. We would definitely stay here again!

    Jennifer2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s place was lovely—great location steps away from the restaurants, lots of amenities, and a beautiful front porch for relaxing with a beer. Jim was also very flexible with our checkout time.

    Laura2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot! Adorable house in a great location. Very clean space with comfortable beds and cozy living room. Jim was very easy to communicate with before and during our stay and check in and out was a breeze. Jim also provided many personal recommendations for things to do and places to eat and drink in the area, which were great. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Seattle!

    Katie2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming place in a great location. Great bars and restaurants within walking distance and close drive to everything. The house was clean and cozy. Perfect place to relax after a day out.

  • Key parking space, board games and Netflix which is helpful when traveling with kids. A helpful guide book for the home and local spots near the house.

    Andrea2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to see and easy access to public transportation

    Quin2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house in a fun neighborhood. If you're driving, the off street parking is a godsend - we didn't see many free spots on the streets. This house has lots of great touches; we loved trying out the espresso maker, and were grateful that coffee and tea were on hand. All around wonderful place to stay.

    Ike2018-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Small bedroom in the basement, the room does not have a lock and the lamp next to the bed did not have a lightbulb. The window looks out into the window well. The bathroom was a little dirty and the house had a funky smell, the kitchen was very messy upstairs, although it wasn't available to us it still didn't look nice.

    Annie2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great communication, nice and safe location

    Yana2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely little space to call home for a few days. James was very easy to communicate with and was very nice to us even though we were sleepy idiots that couldn't figure out how to get in the door. (It's actually a VERY easy check-in process we just weren't thinking straight.) We loved the walkability around Queen Anne and the proximity to Fremont, as well. I was surprised at just how steep the hills were in the neighborhood, but it was absolutely beautiful to walk around.

    Ashley2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Very clean. Spacious bathroom. Downstairs room makes it feel more private. Located directly below kitchen, so can get noisy if someone is using a blender or cooking.

    Carrie2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here on the first night of our Seattle to LA road trip. We weren't expecting much other than a simple place to sleep, but this was a bit disappointing. Poor communication. The bathroom didn't look like the pictures. However, it was in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Plus we found free street parking easily.

    Julie2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and the room was better than expected! Small but cozy and everything, including the bathroom, was clean and looked very new. It was quiet and we had the whole downstairs area to ourselves. James was very accommodating and communicated quickly! The neighborhood was nice and a bus stop nearby made it easy to get around. Would definitely recommend!

Enjoy your stay at a modern studio apartment with private access in the heart of Seattle's charming Fremont neighborhood. Just minutes from downtown Seattle, live like a local with easy access to major bus lines, free street parking, and plenty of good eats/drinks around!
The space is a basement studio apartment with a full kitchen, bath, and queen sized bed. The studio comfortably sleeps 2 in a queen size bed, but there's a large sectional couch that will sleep a 3rd guest - or even a 4th if someone doesn't mind curling up on the Chaise lounge (e.g., a smaller guest). We have plenty of extra blankets and linens if you should need them, and a full size air mattress as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware if you have the urge to whip up a meal. We also have a french press for your coffee needs. The full size, heated bathroom comes equipped with a large vanity/mirror and plenty of towels. Extra toiletries are available in the event you forget your go-to shampoo and body wash. Tired from running around the city all day? Please treat yourself to a relaxing bubble bath! We have a flatscreen TV and XBOX for any relaxing couch time. You have access to Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Instant Video for movies/shows on demand. Sidenote for summer guests: Many places in Seattle do not have air conditioning. Beat the summer heat with this basement unit - it stays cooler than the other side of the pillow.
Fremont is hip and charming. There are many eclectic restaurants and shops within walking distance. We particularly love the Sunday Farmers market. We suggest checking out the Fremont Troll, Gas Works Park, and walking the Burke Gilman Trail. Fremont is also minutes from the Ballard neighborhood. There are many great eats and shops there as well. We're big foodies and provide a list of restaurants to try in the unit.
  • This was a great place to stay, really clean, really well stocked, and cozy. I would definitely stay here again.

    Laura2018-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Reid's place is exactly everything the pictures show. It is very spacious and clean. You can watch Netflix, play Xbox on TV, and cook if you like. The place is 10 mins from UW and pretty convenient. But it is a basement so be aware to that.

    Jiayi2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place to stay! The very clean space had everything you might need- all the comforts of home. It's located in a fun area, and Reid and Aaleen were quick to respond to messages throughout my stay. Would definitely recommend this spot!

    Sterling2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Reid's place. Beautifully designed, very clean and comfortable! Nice location in a quaint, quiet neighborhood with plenty of walkable restaurants, bars and great coffee houses. This was a perfect airbnb experience. Highly recommend this studio!

    Karen2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed for only one night to be in Seattle for a show and a quick visit with family in Fremont. That said, it would have been been great to have that space for a longer visit. It's very comfortable, stylish, and private. It's located on the edge of a Fremont neighborhood, and easily walkable to restaurants etc in that area. Communication with Reid was good and access/check-in was exactly how I would want it: easy.

    Russell2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Reid has created an amazing studio space! It's large, and has all the amenities. The spacious kitchen has a full size fridge and freezer, a gas oven, extra deep sink and a dish washer which is super handy! The bathroom is amazing with a well lit vanity, nice tub for soaking and a great shower. The living room has a couch with a great tv, a game console, and a built in surround sound system that has speakers in the kitchen! It sounds great! The bed was comfortable and clean as well. Overall, 10 out of 10, am looking forward to staying again soon.

    Christopher2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The downstairs apt was just as described. It was very nice and new and we loved staying there. It was a quick walk to Freemont and walking across the bridge at night was awesome. Our hosts were great and we would recommend this place to anyone.

Imagine yourself in an absolutely beautiful apartment in the middle of the artistic neighborhood of Fremont. With a 95 walk score, this is really an amazing location. Essentially brand new, constructed in the past few years. You will love staying in this unit.
One bedroom with queen, one sofa bed that is a queen and one bathroom. This space will be luxurious for 2 and pretty tight for 4 or 5.
Sometimes referred to as "The People's Republic of Fremont" or "The Artists' Republic of Fremont," this neighborhood has been at a center of the counterculture. It remains home to a controversial statue of Vladimir Lenin salvaged from Slovakia by a local art lover who was teaching in the area at the time. After the 1989 fall of the Communist government, he brought the statue to Fremont with money raised through a mortgage on his house. In addition to Lenin is the Fremont Troll, an 18-foot-tall (5 m) concrete sculpture of a troll crushing a Volkswagen Beetle in its left hand, created in 1990 and situated under the north end of the Aurora Bridge. The street running under the bridge and ending at the Troll was renamed Troll Avenue N. in 2005.

  • What cute little flat and everything is within walking distance! We booked this home late and had no problems letting ourselves in right away with access codes. I didn't meet Derek or Todd but their hospitality was fantastic and communication was spot on. There are 2 beds. One private bed room and one awesome fold out in the living area, the spare blankets are so cozy and everything is new but it's a small space. Over all it was a great experience, perfect for 2-3 people, cool area w/ lots of food/bars near by, street parking and we felt safe walking at night. Jillian at The Back Door bar down the street was awesome, good vibes! We would definitely come back and stay again. Immense Gratitude- Jacque from Portland

    Mandisa2019-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean and well located. Awesome bathtub! But like other guests have said, lots of neighbor noise and the lack of air conditioning seems super silly. So be wary of staying here even during 80 degree days.

Small, non-smoking windowless room with a twin bed in a pet and smoke free house with a shared bath is warm, cozy, quiet and one block to the bus line to downtown. In Fremont, a hip and interesting neighborhood to explore. Wi-fi, access to kitchen, laundry, computer and living room. Please check in by 10:00 p.m. No curfew after that. Please note, the bedroom door does not have a lock.
This is our home where we live and ask that you check-in by 10:00 p.m., then feel free to head back out. There is no curfew. Small, windowless, dark, warm, quiet room with a new, firm twin bed and small desk, nothing fancy, but perfect for the traveler on the go. Roomy closet. Radiant heat floors. Pet-free. Wi-fi available. Smoke-free. Parking on the street never a problem. Ten-minute walk to downtown Fremont, one block to the bus. No private bath, but an additional bathroom upstairs, so never a line. The room, as described earlier, is very warm -- most sleep with the fan on especially in the summer. Towels, robes, water glasses provided. My husband and myself will make your stay comfortable.
Some don't-miss aspects of Fremont: Theo's, the nation's only bean-to-bar organic, free trade chocolate factory, call to reserve spots on an unforgettable tour. Lots of options for food including, Mexican, Thai, Indian, Japanese and more. Coffee shops of course, this is Seattle! We are one block from the ship canal with picnic benches. A new distillery with a tasting room just opened up, and a very happening place with 32 hard ciders on tap. Very pedestrian friendly, Fremont will surprise the casual walker with a rocket, a statue of Lenin, a larger-than-life troll under the bridge, ivy dinosaurs and cement people waiting for a bus. And clowns dancing.
  • The place was very comfortable and I felt like I went to visit my aunt... She actually practices the same religion as my gramma, so her prayer made me feel like I was back at my gramma's in Tokyo :-) I think it's perfect for someone who needs a good night sleep on the comfortable bed and nice quiet atmosphere.

  • After a long drive, Kay provided a much needed homey environment. She was there to greet us with a friendly smile, warm bed, and a shower. She responded quickly to any emails and questions I had, all in all an awesome hostess!

  • Great location. Within 2-3 blocks of great restaurants and bars! House was VERY nice and hosts were super friendly. The bathroom next to the room you stay in is SUPER nice featuring a deep soaking tub and a shower that sprays out from the ceiling. Very cool. I highly recommend this place.

  • Kay was a wonderful host; she was very friendly and gave us some tips on places to go. The room was very clean and perfect for our needs. Also, I fell in love with the neighborhood. Fremont has the right amount of kookiness for my taste and is a short bus ride away from downtown and other activities.

    Ana Luisa2014-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The room at Kay's worked out perfectly for me, exactly what I needed. An excellent location in Fremont, a really fun and interesting place.

  • Wow! What a great innagural Airbnb experience. Kay and Dennis were open and kind hosts. As seasoned Airbnb travelers they were certainly attuned to what makes a great stay for a weary traveller: cleanliness, a great bed, privacy, flexibility. They respected my schedule and understood my need for a little solitude at the end of my crazy busy days. I would have loved to have visited more with them, but as this was my first Airbnb experience I also wanted to respect their privacy. This room is windowless, and provided a nice little cocoon for me. What you cannot see in the picture is they have added a great fan which provided the perfect amount of air flow. If you are someone who needs a window, this room is probably not for you. I found waking to Kay's morning ritual of chanting a lovely way to start the day. She does it on the next floor up, so although the sound reaches the room, it is not loud or offense but somehow soothing. Much better than awaking to one's alarm clock. This nice little touch helps make Kay's house a home. Which I appreciate. I am a seasoned traveller who is sensitive to noise. Therefore it is my responsibility to bring ear plugs in case I need them. I did have to use them a couple of times while music, tv was played for a little while in the evening. I do feel this noise was a natural part of their every day and nothing out of the ordinary. Bathroom is shared but I never once ran into anyone. The bathroom is fantastic with soaking tub and fabulous shower.

  • I stay there 2days night, I really suprise About there bathroom. Bathroom is just hotel! You don't be disapoint.

  • Kay's place was lovely and welcoming. The room was perfect for our needs, simple and clean. Keyless entry was very nice and made for a lot of ease in coming and going. Appreciated the smaller touches: water carafe, luggage holder and the robes. Kay was always helpful and friendly whenever we crossed paths. Their bathroom is the nicest I've used! Lovely facilities and timing was easy to work out for the house. Great location and lots of lovely Fremont business/sights in walking distance! Street parking was easy every time too. Not at all a surprise, but I forgot that since there were no windows, I never knew what time it was in the morning, so we slept in a few times. :) The walls are a bit thin, so I'd recommend earplugs, but otherwise my brother and I had a lovely time staying at Kay's!

Great apt near Fremont's popular Center of the Universe. PRIVATE and secluded on a side street! Near the Troll, Lenin, clubs, Theos , views, Fremont Brewery, trails & convenient buses w/easy access to markets. 1920's home. Plus extra large bath towels, chocolate & wine, & comfy queen size bed! Granite counter tops. Garden outlook. Great location...situated on a hill overlooking the canal and "village." Burke-Gilman trail. Walk score 87. About 650sf with tasteful updates and free parking.
Charming, well laid out, and welcoming apartment, with a comfortable bed. I love offering this place to stay in one of the city's very popular neighborhoods. Buses are available to take you to most interesting tourist areas and in walking distance. The cute turquoise dining table w/ table cloth is great for two or three guests. It's a lovely Fremont getaway with prime location and lots of charm. There is a western exposure with good natural light, though less on cloudy days. Comfy bed! The bathroom isn't large but has a huge traditional bathtub - great for soaking and a heater to keep it cozy. There is bike parking in the lower basement. You can walk everywhere in Fremont, and also to the SPU campus, Wallingford, the Burke Gilman Trail, the Fremont Solstice Parade, Gasworks Park, etc. Tucked away on a lovely "country lane" you get the feeling that you are far from the city. Back yard is available and has a fire pit. Outside your back door: Expect plants and flowers to bloom and grow throughout spring summer and early fall; from late Oct to mid March the famous gray sky prevail; enjoy the well loved fire pit, pick herbs and raspberries in season right outside the kitchen door. Take a walk: Fremont has a super walk score of 87 - Walk into the 'village' of Fremont for groceries, shopping, night life, the troll, and a stroll along the Burke Gilman trail. Just be prepared for a steep hike up Phinney or Dayton north of N39th Street. There are lots of stairs that take the place of streets in the hillier sections. Check them out. (The apartment is on the south slope of Phinney ridge, and you can easily take the hill down to Fremont center on foot, with that hike on your way back. Bus: Buses are nearby (5-10 min walk) to take you to downtown, South Lake Union, UW, Ballard and more. All are within 20-30 minutes on the bus. Take the 5 to Pike Place Market or Greenwood. Bus info provided. Orca Pass provided on request with 5 days notice. More: The kitchen is great and you have your own private entrance with a garden outlook. Comcast wifi is provided. Chromecast is available on the big screen too. The laundry room is a few steps away in the owner's area through the door next to the stove. NOTE: Please make appointment for use. QUIET? In general the apartment is very quiet and, you do hear people moving overhead. Since there is a no shoe rule upstairs too, the noise is pretty muffled, typically. The times you might notice movement are in the morning before work, and after 5:30 in the evening. With the shoes off policy people noises from upstairs are rarely an issue or commented on by guests. Now and then a late night or a holiday gathering might be noticeable but the house is typically quiet. Notify the host immediately if you are disturbed by upstairs noises. For BATH lovers, the tub is extra long and great for a long soak. Please don't used deeply colored bath clays or other spa type ingredients as they stain the tub. There's a wall heater in the bathroom so you can always be super cozy - and a separate light across from the tub, just be sure to turn down the wall heater after leaving the room! Vizio 40" flat screen, connected by Chrome Cast via wifi: whatever you get on your smart phone or iPad will be viewable. Be sure to sign up with chrome cast before leaving home so you have immediate access! Neighborhood notes: From this 1921 updated Seattle frame tudor, you can walk this neighborhood of great homes that are older, renovated, newly built or quite unique. It's a section of Fremont that is quiet and residential and yet close to everything. You can take the stairways on your local walks to explore the area with all its very neat nooks and crannies. Go up to N42nd Street on Phinney Ave (for a great workout). If you turn right onto Francis Ave., you can walk down this dead end street checking out the small side street and the great homes and views. And at the very end is the house that overlooks my parking area! I'm on what would have been Francis Ave had the street plummeted over the bluff and continued down to N. 39th Street. Highly urban with an amazing country feel, come away to peace and comfort. Downtown: 12-20 min drive & 20-30 bus Pike Place Market: 12-20 minute drive Ferries: 12-18 min drive (Coleman Dock) to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton and 20-25 min drive to Fauntleroy Ferry dock to Vashon Is and Southworth Fremont shops: under 5 min (drive & park) Check out Burnt Sugar at 35th and Evanston with the rocket ship at the corner; Les Amis (a French clothing store); the Fremont Sunday Market (34th and Evanston); the topiary dinosaurs (34th and Phinney Ave); Market Time and the PCC (our two local grocers); Bus stops: 3-4 within a 10 min walk UW: 15-25 min. drive and park depending on destination SPU: 5-7 min drive; 20 - 30 min walk TROLL: 5-10 min walk Burke- Gilman Bike Trail: take Phinney Ave down hill past Theo's Chocolate to the trail. Fremont Art Council "Power House": 4-5 min walk Ballard: 10-15 min drive to shops and great restaurants Woodland Park Zoo: 5 min drive max! Green Lake: 5-10 minute drive; 15-20 minute walk to path. Other favorites: Discovery Park, Carkeek Park Gas Works Park University Village Golden Gardens and Shilshoe Marina Fremont Bridge Queen Anne Hill Wallingford and Phinney Ridge Ballard Ship Canal Locks w/fish ladder Prize winning downtown public library Ballard Avenue shopping and Sunday Market Fremont Sunday Market Note that prices change from Spring to summer. 1. Laundry room is outside your back door on the right in the older section of the basement behind the curtain. The light switch is above on the ceiling over the dryer. You walk past the water heaters on your right and the electrical panel on your left. This area is a very old Seattle 1920's basement-like feel but concrete and laundry room are painted! 2. Fire pit - check with host regarding fires and burn bans - please provide replacement wood from supermarket if you use a lot, and keep a pail of water near by to douse coals when you are done! 3. Parking is in front and there is room for three vehicles or four. Street parking is plentiful as well. (See photo of gravel parking area) There is a designated parking spot for the apt. by the stairs/next to the fir tree. 4. Recycle/Compost/Garbage Seattle is strong on recycling. There are three bins to use: Recycle clean paper, plastic (not individual bags however), metal and glass in the small, dusty yellow IKEA garbage can. Put all compostable items including bones in the dark pink compost bin (small) next to the front door. All other garbage goes in the open bin under the sink. The apartment is your private home away from home. Once you have been welcomed and shown around the apartment, or you pick up the key, you will be completely at home, and unless there are items you need or a problem of some kind, the interaction can be minimal. It's up to you. If you are new to airbnb, I request a reference if you haven't yet received a review. How many ways do I love my neighborhood? Hard to count. It just gets better and better as does Seattle in general. I will post more here later but Fremont is a great area to choose for your visit - location, amenities, fun things to do, great shops and restaurants, live music venues …. Bus transportation works here. The 5 and the 28 are good choices. The stops are within a few blocks between a 5 and 10 minute walk. You can walk everywhere in Fremont, as well as take a long walk to Green Lake via the Woodland Park Zoo on N 50th Street. There are many stairs that take you from one street to the other in the neighborhood. It's always possible to get in a good morning or evening walk to your favorite cafe, park or night spot. Taxis are an option for more distant locations in the city, or try UBER which is popular here. Uber is an Application driven taxi service - check it out. It's reliable and less expensive than a traditional taxi. CHECKING OUT: Please leave the apartment as you found it. Leave the key on the table or under the mat if requested. Other notes: Don't strip the bed (sheets and pillow cases) or remake it. Adjust the wall thermostats to a little below current temperature setting by listening for the click and dialing a bit lower that that. And let host know if there is anything that didn't work well or needs attention that could be overlooked by housekeepers; leave the living room light on low when you leave and the key on the kitchen table. Thank you for your visit and please come again!
How many ways do I love my neighborhood? Hard to count. It just gets better and better as does Seattle in general. I will post more here later but Fremont is a great area to choose for your visit - location, amenities, fun things to do, great shops and restaurants, live music venues ….
  • We had a fabulous time at Ann's Fremont house. It was walking distance to the Main Street through Fremont, lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Lots of little extras like wine and chocolate and coffee that made our visit more special! Definitely recommend!

    Sarah2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Easy access to downtown via the bus and in walking distance to anywhere in Fremont. Bed was comfortable - Ann was very accommodating and quick to answer our questions.

    Andrea2014-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location was awesome in the Fremont neighborhood- there was a lot to do nearby and downtown Seattle was a short drive away. The place was private, warm, and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Ann was a great host, responsive and welcoming. Love the attention to detail, place setting at table, local coffee, excellent tea...Rental was everything as shown, bed was wonderful, apt quiet and comfortable. Great view out back. Will make sure to visit again in warmer weather to check out gardens and patio.

  • We had a great stay at Ann's place in Fremont! Ann communicated well with us ahead of our trip and greeted us upon our arrival. The space was comfortable with a great bed and a shower with great pressure and hot water. There were lots of nice surprises for us in the apartment: water, wine, chocolate, fruit, breakfast foods, maps and brochures, soap, and shampoo. Ann was available to answer any questions we had and responded quickly to any needs. The home is close to everything in Fremont . . . a great walk anywhere! We recommend "Super cool in artsy Fremont".

    Sarah2015-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with lots of thoughtful little touches. Walkable to downtown Fremont, very fun hip neighborhood with plenty to do. We visited Theo Chocolate, Mischief Distillery, plenty of breweries and restaurants, all right around our lovely Fremont BnB. Even enjoyed a cozy night in cooking some seafood from Pike Place Market.

  • The name says it all.

  • This place is amazing! Such a cozy & quite large place! Ann is so very cute adding in the sweetest touches, not to mention I got a better nights sleep in that bed than in my bed at home! It’s an old house so you can hear quite a bit of noise from those old floors but no biggy! The area of Fremont is awesome to explore, with so much to do & see just within walking distance we really got to enjoy ourselves! Would definitely come back!

Clean, uncluttered, day-lit basement apartment in the heart of Fremont. A separate entrance, with a key waiting for you, takes you into the heart of The Bunker! The basement has higher-than-normal ceilings for Seattle, an inviting, open layout. The Bunker and is a no-smoking zone.
All the guests that have stayed here have liked it. I think it is because it's a pretty big space and easy access from the street. It has a nice "big living room" sort of feel, though there is a separate bedroom in the back, away from the street. The ceilings are pretty high for Seattle standards, making it not feel cramped at all. A microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator are there for your use...
Fremont - The Center Of The Universe. This neighborhood is awesome! Here in Fremont there's a multitude of restaurants, bars, quirky art, boutiques and the Ship Canal. The Burke Gilman Trail is a block away - grab one of my bikes and ride to the Puget Sound, or head towards the mountains. Ballard, home to over a dozen micro-breweries, is less than a mile away.
  • Awesome self-contained basement. You can borrow bikes & plenty of good advice about things to do. Nice part of seattle.

    James2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very accommodating and friendly hosts. The bunker is a basement but really doesn’t feel dark or sad like a basement. There’s natural lighting and the entrance is actually the first floor not underground.

    Reema2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the Honey Badger Bunker for a month and I had a great time with no complaints. The entire place has a nice cozy feel to it and for the price, was definitely worth staying. Definitely recommend to others.

    Eshwar2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Even before I arrived for my stay, Tim and his girlfriend were immediately responsive to all of my questions via AirBnb. I was given an opportunity to see the unit before my stay as well - which was helpful given the long term of my stay. What was so great besides host Tim? Location! The 'bunker' is located in historic and charming Fremont. Everything is accessible with a short walk to a major bus route in and out of downtown (just a block down the hill) and great Fremont eateries, pubs, artisanal shops, etc. The Bunker itself was welcomingly nice and cool even over some hot days this summer. The bed is comfy and the room his a nice little living room to kick back in after a day of bike riding or touring around Seattle. It is also very close and walkable to Google, Tableau and Adobe offices in Seattle if you happen to be here on business. Tim afforded me complete privacy while I was here, but was always available to chat and offer recommendations as a knowledgeable Seattleite and avid outdoorsman. I'll be staying here again soon!

    Matt2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Christy were welcoming and forgiving about my weird schedule, and the lodge was as expected. Fremont is an awesome area and is pretty close (by walking, uber, or bus) to the other Seattle sites. Will definitely try to stay here again next time I'm in Seattle.

    Stuart2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Flowers galore and champagne in the fridge...what a welcome! The location is awesome too. It's close enough to restaurants, pubs, and green spaces to walk I'll be looking to see if it is available for my future trips.

    Joslyn2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Christy's place is in a great location. The place is spacious and comfortable.

    Lisa2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Tim and Christy's "Honey Badger Bunker" in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle was a wonderful experience. They are incredibly communicative, hospitable and accommodating hosts. They think of small details that make you feel very welcome, including, but not limited to, leaving you bottled water, folded towels, a map of the area and lists of some of their favorite local establishments. They also made our entry into town as first-timers, and our transportation around town, incredibly clear and easy. The "bunker" itself was a dream, cozy but spacious, with a comfortable bed, a large TV, couch, mini fridge, silverware, a sizable shower, coffee maker and more. All of this, and Tim and Christy's rates are more than reasonable, even during heavy tourist times. No matter what your situation is, if you need a place to stay in Seattle, my girlfriend and I would both highly recommend Tim and Christy's "Honey Badger Bunker."

One bedroom apartment in top of duplex situated on the north side of Queen Anne. Queen Bed with luxury linens, fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room and bathroom. Sip your coffee from a table with territorial views. Two short blocks from SPU.
This 1911 house was, at some point, converted into a duplex. The upstairs unit has a unique and comfortable layout with skylights, a large living room that opens up to the kitchen. The bathroom is spacious. The bedroom is small but comfortable.
The duplex is on a nice quiet street with ample parking. It's a half mile walk to Fremont and a .8 mile walk to the upper Queen Anne neighborhood. Both areas have a wide variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shopping. You can walk or jog along the ship canal (just a few blocks away).
  • Keith's place is wonderful. Very private and quiet. I usually stay in a downtown hotel when visiting Seattle. I enjoyed this more and I saved a few bucks. Uber is a great way to get around from this place. Beware, there are many hills around here so get ready for a bit of cardio.

    Roy2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place. Great location. Walked to Seattle Pacific University and close to bus stop to Univ of Washington. It was exactly as described. Very clean and accessible. Keith was excellent with communication and quick to reply. 5 stars for sure!!

    Angie2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Keith's place! Check-in couldn't have been easier, the North Queen Anne location was perfectly quiet and convenient, and the apartment itself was so comfortable. A much-needed great night's sleep. Thank you Keith!

    Maura2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice. clean place. There are a lot of steps to get up to the house; not uncommon for that neighborhood, but could be a problem for some. There is a handrail, but it is overgrown from the nearby shrubs. There is a portable A/C unit at the front of the apartment. It cools down the living room, but is too far from the bedroom to cool that down at all.

    Mary Cay2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We lovedit. Super conveniently located and walkable yo Queen Anne or Freemont stores/markets. Cute space. Keith was super prompt on responses.

    Shaun2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This little apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable Seattle visit! It is centrally locates, quiet and easy to get to! Would definitely stay there again. Thanks Keith for being a great host!

    Debbie2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, on a quiet street that is near the river front. We used e-lime bikes to get around which were easy to find by the place. It does get very hot inside the unit, even with the provided air conditioner. It’s probably perfect in the Spring and Fall or when there isn’t a heat wave, like we experienced. We would recommend staying here.

This is a MIL studio below my family home, it's close to The Nickerson Street Saloon & MANY other restaurants/shops, Gas Works Park, Fremont, Downtown, Woodland Park Zoo, Ballard Locks, Burke Gillman Trail, UW, Fremont Sunday Market (year round), Seattle Center (Pacific Science Center, Space Needle, MoPop), Lake Union, MOHAI, bus lines. My place is good for couples, traveling nurses, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The bedroom is open to the rest of the unit, but it is separated by a half wall. (This unit has low(ish) part in a section of the ceiling and one lower than typical doorway. If you are tall (over 6ft) this may not be the most suitable place - unless you can remember to watch your head under that section of the unit.
Walk across the Fremont Bridge to the Sunday Market and all of the Fremont shops, bars, and restaurants. Norm's is a dog friendly restaurant (even dog menus). Roxy's is popular. Nickerson Salon, several Thai and Mexican restaurants and of course Pizza and living in the Great NW plenty of coffee and bakery shops. There is a place where you can paint and drink wine. Brewery's galore.
  • Excellent location, cozy place. Very clean well stocked. Friendly hosts.

  • Great value, excellent location and very clean! All the amenities of home. Stephanie was welcoming and very reachable, however we did not need to contact her for anything! I will come back and recommend to others!

    Teri2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie was a wonderful host and communicated everything clearly. Her place is super close to Fremont and Lyfts were decent price to go to downtown. We even walked to downtown one day through Queen Anne and enjoyed all the coffee stops along the way. She was very welcoming to us and my dog. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place in Seattle.

    Raya2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Stephanie’s. Easy to get to, great location near fun shopping areas. The place had everything we needed with added touches like snacks and coffee. Easy to check in with the pin pad and quick to book (booked the night before).

    Emily2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Not that amazing. Paying more for location. Lots within walking distance. Don’t bother trying to do laundry. The dryer did not work well. we had tried to run it on the same small load 4 times and it was still damp when we had to leave the next morning. Communication was also not returned as soon as we checked in.

This is a 27' Airstream International Signature. It sleeps 4-5 people but is great for 2! Our property is adapted to accommodate a full hook-up (water/ sewer and electric), so come and relax -- we'll provide you everything you need for a successful and fun experience! This is a new and modern airstream, so nothing vintage here, just pure comfort, modern style with designer touches, and a peaceful and quiet neighborhood.
A walk through this historic neighborhood will take you to secret staircases and unparalleled views of the city and sound. Just a few blocks from a charming street with great food, coffee and pubs. You'll love this central location!
  • Exceptional place to stay in. The location is perfect to explore the city and its surroundings. The amenities are very welcoming and definitely would love to be back again. Thank you for such an incredible experience!

  • My family of four really enjoyed staying in Jessica's airstream. The Queen Anne neighborhood is quiet and very beautiful. Our kids enjoyed walking to the park next door. The "downtown" Queen Anne area is about a 10 minute uphill walk, and has nice restaurants, coffee shops, a super market, and public transportation to downtown Seattle. Free street parking is available right near the trailer. The trailer was very comfortable. Of course it's a tight fit for two adults and two kids, but that was expected.

The outdoor seating area is very private and a wonderful place to sit and relax with a drink before dinner. William was a great host - loved that he checked in halfway through our stay to make sure everything was ok. Highly recommend!

Welcome! We are located in Fremont 10 min walking distance to restaurants, bars and well connected to Ballard, the U-District and Downtown. You have your bedroom with a private bathroom, coffee in the morning with an amazing Olympic view!
You have a comfortable sized room with a queen bed (just changed it from a pulled out sofa), large closet and sitting area. There is a private bathroom, just down the hall, next to the room and full use of our kitchen and living area with fireplace. Enjoy the view from our deck or sit around the outdoor fire pit and grill marshmallows. If needed you can use washer and dryer or play a tune on our piano.
We are well centered in Fremont on the edge to Ballard. You can easily walk to Fremont center with it's fantastic restaurants, dive bars and artsy bars, Ballard is about 20min on foot and one of the most popular places in Seattle. There are bus lines to all the major areas just one block away.
  • Everything was as described or better. The location is phenomenal and Katha and her husband were amazing hosts. They are great people and gave us several great recommendations for what to do, see and eat all over Seattle. Short walk to all the exceptional restaurants and bars in Freemont and Ballard. This was our first 'private room' (vs whole house) airbnb experience and they made us feel very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again next time in Seattle!

    Josh2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
Merci !

    Yuna2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The two things I loved most about Katha's home were the location and views. It's in a quiet area, yet within walking distance from Fremont. Ballard is a very short drive (these are my two favorite Seattle neighborhoods). The room itself offered plenty of closet space, a desk, and a comfy pull-out bed. It was also nice to have a private bathroom although I should note that one has to walk through the house to the basement to access it. Katha and her husband were very pleasant to chat with but still allowed me my privacy. They were also very accommodating about check-in/out times. Overall, a great stay!

    Kimberley2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Katha and Matt were warm and welcoming hosts. The private room and bathroom were well equipped.

    Meryl2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katha's place was great, very close to bus routes and to cool Fremont and Ballard! Both cats were very friendly and we cannot recommend this place enough! Perfect for a Seattle place to stay.

  • Katha's husband was there to greet us and was very inviting. He showed me around the place which had a charming, "hipster-ish" vibe. The deck was beautiful. We had our own bathroom but it was downstairs so it was a little inconvenient at times. Especially when I started feeling unwell and was diagnosed with appendicitis =/ Anyway, Katha and her husband were very nice about letting us stay a little longer in the home than anticipated.

    Jennifer2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. Cute house and nice hosts within walking distance of Fremont and Ballard retail. Would definitely stay again!

This nest comes fully furnished with a queen bed for two, a spacious closet, a full kitchen, a fold-out breakfast bar, a living room with a comfortable couch, and a private bathroom. View our hens and vegetable garden right from the kitchen window while you enjoy a half-dozen of the freshest eggs you can get. Your stay is sure to be sunny-side-up!
Tasty restaurants, first-class coffee, unique bars, specialty markets and tech giants Adobe, Gooogle & Tableau are all just steps away. Be sure to pay the Troll a visit on your way to scope out the amazing views of the city skyline from Gasworks Park. Numerous neighborhood highlights include the world-renowned Theo chocolate factory, the Burke-Gilman Trail: a pedestrian and cyclist path to the beach and beyond, plus the Fremont Sunday Market—much more than your average farmers' market.
  • We stayed at the Roost for 5 nights while attending a convention downtown. Our flight was delayed getting into SeaTac, so thus we arrived at the Roost quite late (~11pm). Jean-Sébastien was kind enough to greet us despite having work the next morning. The pathway to the rear entrance is a little narrow, but there is a wider path by the driveway if you walk a little further up the street. We loved having the eggs, cereal, coffee, bread, and jam available. The place was very clean and quiet. You definitely hear a few footsteps above you every now and then, but it didn't bother us at all. I loved the firm bed and the large closet. Cable TV was nice to have, and the internet connection was also quite speedy. Unfortunately the convention schedule had us downtown from 7:30am till 10pm or so everyday, so we didn't get to hang out at the Roost as much as we had liked. However, we really enjoyed the little time we did get to spend at the Roost and around the Fremont area. Fremont is very unique and quirky with lots of neat bars/restaurants/people, and it really gave us an interesting experience of Seattle. This was our first time using airbnb, and staying at the Roost was definitely a great experience. Everything was very streamlined and we instantly felt at home. It was such a welcome break from the staleness that can be metropolitan downtowns and hotel lobbies. I would gladly stay here again.

    Richard2014-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We felt welcome and enjoyed meeting our host. At the same time we had privacy and comfort as depicted in the listing. Jean-Sebastien was friendly and made us feel at home. All good!

    James2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • One of my favorite places to stay in Seattle. Such a thought out detailed amazing space to stay in. The hosts are very communicative and the roosters are great! Fresh eggs for your every stay :)

    Stacy2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Roost is so lovely and well-located! Truly a perfect stay. The place was clean, well-decorated, and stocked with eggs, juice, soda, coffee, milk, beer, and more. Spacious with a surprising amount of natural light, and the chickens are adorable and surprisingly quiet. Jean-Sébastien was communicative even while on vacation, which I so appreciated. The keyless entry made The Roost especially convenient and easy to access.

    Kelsea2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at The Roost for a few short nights and enjoyed it immensely. We didn't spend much time at the apartment, as we were busy exploring Seattle. The Roost was in a very convenient location, and we were able to walk to many of the things we wanted to do in Fremont--including local restaurants, bars, grocery store, Sunday Market, and even the marina for an evening sail. Oh, and the bed was super comfortable! We were at the end of a 10 day train trip and appreciated a super cozy bed by that time. Jean-Sebastien was helpful and flexible in accommodating our requests, and we had a wholly positive experience.

    Cayla2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • JS and Joshua sent us all our information ahead of our stay and even invited us to a gathering that evening. We found the accommodations extremely clean and inviting. There was food and drink available and all the expectations were laid out. The bed was comfortable! The soft clucking of the chickens was calming and out of the ordinary for us. Thanks for the fresh eggs! Fremont itself was exploding with the Solstice parade and we were a short walk from everything. We have NOTHING to criticize. What a great stay!

    Andrew2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at "The Roost" and my only regret is that we were there only 2 nights! Great BNB and the remodeling since our last visit is top notch... Since I gave them 5 stars last time, can this count as 6?

    Elaine2016-12-15T00:00:00Z

  • The Airbnb at Beth's was wonderful! Big spacious room with wonderful bathroom & shower; extra room with big TV, comfortable couch, chair & foot stools; mini fridge with cold water, coffee & hot tea supplies. Beth went above & beyond to make our stay the best.

    Louisa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beth’s place is fantastic! The location was perfect for us, close enough to downtown but in a quiet, interesting neighborhood full of cafes, restaurants and interesting shops. There are two separate, very large rooms taking up the entire top floor of her house. I was traveling with my daughter and we requested a bed in the second room which I thought might take away some of the space but there was still a sofa and a table. That room also had great views. The bathroom, which is an en-suite to the main bedroom, has two sinks and a nice shower the size of my bathroom. There are separate thermostats in each room. There are lots of windows in both rooms, which open to create a nice cross breeze. Beth was a great host. She had suggestions for everything we wanted to do- she even passed on a recommendation for a vegan restaurant from a previous guest. She was very accommodating when I asked for flexibility for our check-in time, which I changed at the last minute. It was great to be able to park in her driveway. I highly recommend Beth’s place, especially for two people or two couples who want space to spread out and relax. (But keep in mind you have to go into the main bedroom to get to the bathroom). I would definitely stay there again!

    Meredith2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place is amazing! My daughter and I felt so welcomed. The top floor space is outfitted with comfy beds, lots and lots of windows, heated floors, a killer shower, linens and space to move. Sans a private entrance it felt very private and Beth is a wonderful host who gives you your space unless you are like my daughter and I who have a million questions which she answered perfectly with suggestions and knowledge of the neighborhood and area. We will stay there again the next time we visit Seattle and I would recommend Beth's place to my friends and family. Thanks again Beth for everything!

    Alisa2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Exquisitely clean and comfortable. We slept well, and wow, would we love to have a shower at home like that! We also enjoyed visiting with Beth; we have a fair number of shared interests. Would happily stay again.

  • Beth's place is very nice and her hospitality is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with her!

    Robert2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I spent three nights at Beth's place and had a wonderful experience all around. Beth's home is in a great location in an area very easy to get around to see the Seattle sites. Her home is lovely and the guest space is stylish, roomy, spotlessly clean, comfortable and inviting. But it is Beth herself who made our visit so special. She is warm, friendly and went beyond the expected several times to ensure that our visit to Seattle went as smoothly as possible. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for Beth's place!

    Gail2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • If we could give 10000 stars we would. Beth is such a gracious host who was always very patient and thoughtful. Her space was beautiful and built very intentionally. Her neighborhood is super dog friendly and filled with cute shops and restaurants. Beth was always a suggesting places we should explore and has wonderful knowledge of the city and how to navigate it. We highly recommend this!

  • Lenza's place is in a great location in Fremont. There are many local restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. On the weekend there is a lovely outdoor market just a few blocks away. If you are heading downtown it's just a short drive. The space is bright, clean and stylish. The bed is super comfortable and the heated floors in the bathroom were a really nice touch. The kitchen is beautiful and the gas stove and island made me want to stay in and cook a feast. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This home is lovely! Very convenient and accessible for Fremont. Their bed is super comfy with a bunch of pillows of varying firmness, their living room throw rug is really soft, and they have a cool shower where the water comes straight down from the top. This home felt future-y but also very comfy. The place is easy to locate and easy to check into. I'd definitely stay here again next time in in the Seattle area. :)

  • An awesome place to stay in the west side of Fremont. The full kitchen, spacious bathroom, and cozy bed all made this a great place to spend my week and I could easily see myself coming back next time!

  • Incredibly modern and clean home. I loved the smart home functionalities!

    David2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is nicely situated in the trendy Fremont neighborhood. It is within close walking distance of lots of amenities, yet far enough away not to be bothered by them. The apartment is very nicely decorated with a lovely kitchen and fabulous overhead shower. The only downside is the upstairs neighbor who, while not intentionally loud, does seem to be a bit of a night owl with heavy steps. (Note: The possibility of sound is clearly disclosed on the site’s listing.) If you are a heavy sleeper, you will definitely want to stay here!

Charming 1920's frame Tudor with many updates, and artsy touches. This location is great. You can visit Seattle and the surrounding areas all day and then return to Fremont and enjoy the "village" shops and neighborhood! On warmer days, until mid October if we are lucky, enjoy the "dining" table on the deck just off the kitchen. Evenings are perfect now for a fire in the newer fire pit. The baby grand piano is always available during the day for the musically inclined, and there is live music in Fremont "village" ongoing in the evenings. Nectar Lounge is a favorite. Parking on site is a great feature. Be sure to reserve your space! Bus stop nearby takes you to Seattle Center, Pike Place Market and/or downtown in 20 minutes +/-. If driving you are just 10 minutes on Aurora/Hwy 99 to Pike Place market parking in the World Market building. Buy a treat at the World Market for free parking while you visit Pike Place. You can walk to the NEWER restaurant district at 43rd and Fremont Ave which includes the ever popular Paseo, Cafe Vita, UNeedaBurger, and Pecado Bueno, plus highly rated Rock Creek, and, Fremont Bowl are popular as well Near the center of Fremont between N 34th Street and N 36th Street there are more shops, cafes, and restaurants, quirky and artsy installations, Theo Chocolate Factory, Burnt Sugar, PCC (awesome and organic grocery), Fremont Coffee, Qazi's newly remodeled dining room, Nectar's live music venue, The Troll, Cafe Turko, and other favorites. ROOM: South facing and spacious with a sleeping alcove and an extra comfy twin mattress near the view window to allow for an additional guest! The bathroom is three steps away. It is shared with the room on the north facing side of the house. There are no common walls for the bedrooms. The alcove sleeping area is charming with a lower ceiling. (174sf) There is a desk in the room for corporate guests who need to work while here. THE HOUSE: Beautiful 1920's tudor style home in Seattle's popular Fremont neighborhood. Protected by two towering douglas fir trees and a large hedge, the house is private and quiet, and is set in the NE corner of the lot with the gardens on the west and south sides. Artsy and peaceful, awesome kitchen, great view deck to garden and mtn, hardwood floors on main, tile shower up, wifi, laundry, parking and a "bike garage" in the lower storage area. And again, a bit romantic with a sleeping alcove in the room, plus plenty of open space too, and includes a twin mattress for a third guest. There is a desk in the room for corporate guests who need to work while here. NOTE: both beds are comfortable mattresses on the floor with pillow tops - have tested both successfully! LOCATION: This is an amazing hillside Fremont"village" location, in the residential section with secret stair walks and a variety of gardens and homes, and a 5-10 minute walk to shops, groceries, restaurants, buses and the ship canal. (Visit the Fremont Troll, the rocket ship at 35th and Evanston just across from the Saturn building, the topiary dinosaurs, the sundial at Gasworks Park, the Zoo, Theo's chocolate factory, Waiting for the Interurban and the very cool Fremont Bridge.) MISCELLANEOUS: A common area and cozy reading area is at the top of the stairs between the 2 rooms,. The tile shower and bead board wainscoating bath is just steps from your room. The bath is shared with another room located on the other side of the sitting area. You have no common walls with other rooms so your space is private and quiet. And on cooler evenings there's a fire pit in the garden. COUNTRY IN CITY: Everyone is amazed at this little corner of Seattle, feeling as if you are in the country, yet just 10-15 minutes from downtown, UW, Puget Sound or Lake Washington. You will not find super manicured lawns but you will find lovely gardens, gravel paths, birds and a few squirrels, spring and summer flowers, and a great walking score. And, you won't find sidewalks on this side street, but most of the year you will be greeted by charming hedges and leafy tree overhangs as you enter this somewhat secret hideaway in the city. Bus service is easy and convenient too. 20 minutes to "The Market" with normal traffic. Bus routes to check out are the 28, the 5 and the 40 for starters. KITCHEN: The kitchen is set up with a French door refrigerator with a shelf reserved for you, a large drawer for other dry items, and an awesome gas range that is very popular among visiting cooks. Two cooks can easily work together or separately. (Kitchen includes a dishwasher, toaster oven, juicer, blender, slow cooker, rice cooker, and mixer.) BE SURE TO LET HOST KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO COOK FULL DINNERS. Remember the house rules of quiet from 10pm to 10am and no more cooking after 9pm. GARDEN: The garden is a staircase away. Collards and kale most of the year, In early summer the raspberries are delicious. Blackberries across the road and on the east side ripen in Aug/Sept. In February the bulbs and leaves start to grow to the light and lunch on the deck on a sunny day in early April is GREAT! Last year I planted extra bulbs and am look forward to pots and gardens with more tulips and narcissus in 2017 too. ROOM DETAILS: You will have your own room with a queen size bed, share a lovely shower bath, upstairs and away from the main living spaces. There is an extra day bed/ mattress as well for an additional guest VISITING Fremont! Cafes, shops, biking trails, the Troll, and the life size sun dial at Gas Works Park with its spectacular view of downtown are all within walking distance. The Burke Gilman Trail is at the bottom of the hill, just turn left and you are on your way to Bothell if you like, or just a leisurely waterfront stroll. Fremont Coffee, Cafe Ladro, Starbucks, Lighthouse Roaster and several other great coffee houses are nearby. Nightlife is busy and fun with much life music. Market Time at 44th and Fremont Ave and the PCC at 34th and Evanston (dedicated to an organic and healthy lifestyle) make grocery shopping easy whether you drive, walk or bike. WINTER: Being in Seattle in the winter is cozy and full of sparkling tree lights to keep away the dark. During the shortest days we have sunset by 4:15pm and sunrise around 7:40am. We don't actually have rain so much as many days of overcast skies with no sunshine, or quite little. And, lately the weather patterns have sometimes been different. We're all working around the global change patterns these days. In the approaching spring thorough late summer it is sooo beautiful. Guests can make morning coffee and use the fridge shelf assigned for personal food. There is also a large drawer in the kitchen for dry goods, etc., that will be available for your dry goods, snacks, (website hidden) is also an option so make your request before you arrive and the kitchen will be yours for the evening (other guest room will be notified). Guests can use the deck and sit in the garden or arrange for an evening fire around the fire pit. As the season progresses, when the tomatoes ripen, or when the raspberries are ripe, they are fun to share. There is also a basement area below the house with an exterior access only that is good for storing bikes or a kayak (with notice). Bikes are also safe, typically, in the back yard under the deck. Usually guests are clear if they want to come and go quietly with not too much interaction or if they want to visit about the area or chat a bit. Either is fine. I try to allow the guests to set the pace and it seems to work, whether we create some friendship ties or just morning and evening hello's. I LOVE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. We have the best of just about everything - some great mtn views, access to the water for kayaking, and boating, easy hwy and freeway access, an active arts community and busy chamber of commerce. There are many coffee shops, restaurants and several grocery stores within walking distance or a short drive (PCC, Market Time, Fred Meyer, 7-11, Trader Joes, QFC). PCC is GMO free and has pature raised beef and eggs, organic coffee beans, a deli, a salad bar and hot food bar. The produce section is carefully selected and amazing. Prices are not cheap, quality is high. New and older restaurants offer a wide variety of dining, and decor. Walk to everything in Fremont, or use it as your home base with great access to down town, Ballard, the locks, and Shilshoe and Golden Gardens. UW is a quick bike ride away, or 4-10 minutes by car depending on where you need to go. South Lake Union is hopping with activity, amazon, the Gates Foundation, and more. Be there in 5 minutes. Parking is free and is in front of the house in an attractive gravel parking area. Bus service is frequent and takes you nearly everywhere a visitor would want to go. Check out seattle transit. There are bus pamphlets in the rooms or in the basket at the base of the stairs. From the airport: You have several options… 1. Taxi - about 30 minutes 2. Light rail - roll your bags to the light rail station by following the signs and you can economically go all the way to Westlake Center downtown. From there you can grab a taxi or take the 28 or the 5 bus into Fremont and walk to the house. 45 minutes to the house if you are lucky with timing or perhaps 1.5 hrs if buses are slower and you don't take a taxi for any part of the trip. 3. Super Shuttle type service - check the internet for details. 4. Car rental at the airport, then follow gps and directions on this site to drive to the house. I takes about 25 minutes from the airport to the house. Fall is brisk and great for walks and steaming coffee and yummy soups. Everyone sports trades in flip flops and sandals for boots and long socks and jackets. Winter is pretty dark and there are lots of festivities in December. (see skiing below) Coffee houses are popular as are live music, jazz, opera, and ballet. As the weather warms up and the days get long and sunnier, there is a LOT to enjoy in the area. Be sure to check out hiking sites, and tour info on line. At the house there will be information too. Fremont itself is fun and great all year round. The markets on Sundays in Fremont and Ballard are great. Always ask if you don't find what you want. SKIING: Snoqualmie Pass is 45 minutes away and has really popular night skiing. Alpental offers more challenging runs. And don't forget cross country skiing and snowshoeing. KITTITAS VALLEY: Cle Elum and Roslynd are about an hour and a half east on I 90. If you are looking for snow, the old west, sunshine and some wide open spaces just go East and you'll find it. There are some jaw dropping views when you drive the back roads and hiking to Manastash Ridge is a super day hike - with spectacular views.
I love my neighborhood for all the reasons I've listed above, and because of the community feel here. The Fremont Arts Council and the Fremont Abbey for arts and performance oriented creativity and activities, the Chamber for growing and sustaining businesses, and the local color everywhere. Walking along the Burke Gilman Trail at the base of Phinney Avenue by the life sized dinosaur topiaries is a great way to spend time and get a ground level view of the canal and all the boats and ships that pass by. Stopping at the Lighthouse Roaster for incredibly delicious coffee and a variety of teas gives you a taste of a local and very popular neighborhood meeting place. Following the many connecting stairways and paths in the area gives you a very special experience of this great neighborhood. There is a newly finished neighborhood stair case on Greenwood Avenue. Great for step training! Link to typical tourist sites and some great alternatives: (URL HIDDEN) hidden)/html/travel(phone number hidden)_(email hidden)ml Even though the house is minutes away from the bustle of the Fremont community with live music venues at night and a popular Sunday market on weekends, you would not realize that. This is also a great place to take a private retreat with grounds and gardens that feel totally away from the city while being close to everything. Always feel comfortable asking for information and good places to visit in Fremont.
  • Ann was a great host! Very Welcoming. We enjoyed our stay in Seattle.

    Ronald2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ann was home to greet us when we arrived and introduced us to the other guests staying at her house. She also familiarized us with the house its facilities for cooking and laundry etc. She also gave us a yummy chocolate bar. The listing description was very accurate and complete. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet and well maintained. It was set apart from the main street with lots of trees and raspberry bushes. It was like a retreat in the middle of the city.

  • My stay at "Treetop and mountain views - Fremont!" was my first experience with Airbnb, and it was outstanding. Ann was caring and attentive, and she even greeted me with an offer of a cup of tea upon arrival, which was late due to my flight being from the East Coast. The premises themselves were truly lovely. Every morning I awoke to a gorgeous treetop view of one of the main bridges to downtown Seattle. The rainy season had begun, but the trees still sported many leaves and I can easily imagine how even more beautiful this location must be in the spring, summer, and early fall. My room was wonderful. Spacious, clean, and unique, it was always a welcome place to return to after a long day, whether that having been spent sightseeing and hiking or attending a training. The entire house reflects Ann's artistic and creative sensibilities, and it was a delight simply to sit in the living room and look around, taking it all in. I loved being close enough to Fremont to walk around and discover things on my own. Indeed, I could have spent all my time in Fremont and been completely happy. Lucky for me, Ann had the bathroom and bedroom well-stocked with Fremont and Seattle-centric magazines that offered all sorts of ideas for potential excursions and great places to eat. And as suggested by Ann, the proximity of the Lighthouse Coffee Roasters, only a few (albeit glute-enhancing) blocks away, was a lovely taste of both local flavor (mmm - their lattés were great!) and milieu. At Ann's suggestion, I took advantage of several sunny days to walk around Fremont and hike in Discovery Park. I also had the unexpected chance to take a ferry to Vashon Island, which was a fantastic treat. Ann's home was even prettier than "advertised." My bedroom and the shared bathroom were impeccably clean (actually, the whole house was). The wifi worked without a hitch. I would recommend this venue wholeheartedly. Ann's commitment to "doing this right" and her enthusiasm about the Airbnb experience overall make her a wonderful ambassador for this experience. Indeed, I hope I'll be able to stay here when I come to Seattle again, hopefully within the next few months - and maybe I'll even bring my husband! I heartily recommend this listing.

  • Ann was a great host! She made us feel right at home and was very helpful!

    Avalon2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for 5 days and it felt like home. Ann is an amazing and a thoughtful host. The tour of the kitchen, and the sparkling water and chocolate in our room instantly made us feel welcome and cared for. Furthermore, she had tons of resources about the neighborhood that she shared with us. She checked in with us halfway during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The stand out for us was the fact that throughout our stay Ann was invested in our well being and comfort. This by far has been my best experience at an Airbnb and I would recommend her to everyone!

  • Super hostess, house is charming older home in a woodsy part of Fremont, lovely view of Mt. Ranier - super kitchen to prepare a meal for al fresco dining on the deck and relaxed conversation with Ann and others.

    David2013-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay. Beautiful house and neighborhood. Ann and Cyrill paid close attention to details and made sure that I felt wonderful!

    Maria2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • I can't think of a better host than Ann! I had a wonderful time at her place. She went way out of her way to drive me to the airport to retrieve my ipad I had left on the plane, and she doctored me up when I pulled a muscle in my back. Ann's home is an artist's treasure trove and my room was very comfortable and private. Great time!

  • Great first Airbnb experience! Manuela is an amazing host!

  • Fantastic! Truly an urban oasis. Fremont is a very happening part of town, as is Ballard. Good bus service between downtown, Fremont and Ballard make this a great spot for folks on foot. Personally, I had a wonderful experience walking to the Ballard Locks and all the way up to Carkeek park via Golden Gardens beach. That's some distance, but a lovely NW Seattle experience. Manuela is a great host and the space is exactly as described in the listing. Highly recommended and I would be happy to return.

Centrally located to many neighborhoods on the north side and easy to get to. Manuela's local recommendations were spot on. I will definitely try and stay here again if it's available.

  • Only thing missing was a mirror from the bedroom I was in. The only mirror I had other than that was the bathroom and being that there was only 1 I didn’t wanna be in there doing my hair or make up because no one else would be able to use it. The only other thing was that the toilet didn’t flush properly for the majority of my stay, they changed the toilet out towards the end of my stay and it worked a lot better after that. Other than that the stay was great and super close to downtown, about 3 miles away. The hosts were super nice and always willing to help and talk, but stayed to themselves if they saw you didn’t want to talk which I appreciated.

Modern luxury & old charm. Live it. Love it. Take a break. Enjoy your stay at newly remodeled bright studio in the heart of Seattle's fun and quirky Fremont. Walk to great restaurants, cafes, nightlife, shops, galleries, parks & public transportation
The completely remodeled apartment is located in the main level of the charming craftsman triplex and has a big porch with a view of the canal and Queen Anne hill. I enjoyed designing a space that you would love to stay in. It features an open floor plan, high ceilings, new bamboo floors, and sparkle kitchen with new appliances, bright colors, and tons of natural light. It is clean, modern, functional and comfortable, with plenty of storage and everything you need for an extended stay. - House located on a quiet street in the downtown Fremont and has 3 separate apartments - Private seating in a big porch with the view and a nice big backyard - Wi-Fi - A/C - Flat-screen TV (enjoy streaming movies, shows, news, etc. Netflix account is enabled in Roku streaming player and is complimentary for our guests) - Full new kitchen (refrigerator, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip coffeemaker, french press) - New queen bed + sofa bed - Modern bath with a large shower, new amenities, toiletries and hairdryer - Iron & ironing board - Shared washer & dryer in onsite laundry - Free on-street parking, driveway parking sheared with other guests, first come first served - Two blocks from direct buses to downtown, Ballard, University district
Fremont is a funky, creative neighborhood about four miles north of downtown Seattle. As the self-proclaimed Center of the Universe with year-round unexpected and unconventional entertainment, trolls who live under bridges, statues of communist leaders, and Cold War-era rocket on top of a boutique. We know how to make and have fun. It's full of fantastic local shops, breweries, eateries and bars, and its central location provides a perfect base from which to explore the rest of the city. I suggest checking out the Fremont Troll, Gas Works Park, Ship Canal, Theo's Chocolate Factory, the Fremont Sunday Market, and walking the Burke Gilman Trail. It’s a wonderful neighborhood and this is a great house; I hope that you enjoy your stay here. Fremont is also minutes from the Ballard neighborhood. There are many great eats, bars with life music and boutique shops.
  • I loved this light and apcious studio. The balcony was great for the warm evenings. The host had provided lots of little extras and the kitchen was really well equipped for making my own food.

    Diane2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great location and very nice apt. with a very comfortable queen bed. High end finishes throughout, plush towels, toiletries, very appreciated selection of teas and coffee. I had my elderly mother with me, and she enjoyed her accommodations very much. Lara was accessible for questions, went out of her way to provide a made futon for me...thank you!

    Carrie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful, relaxing get-away. I loved this studio; super bright, good energy, comfortable, full kitchen. The neighborhood (Fremont) was better than what I'd expected; everything in Fremont is walkable from Lara's place. I barely used the rental car. There's a lovely porch, where you can sit and read, and if the sun is out, catch some rays. I felt like I was in a treehouse. Visible from the bed and porch, were beautiful trees. I also loved how this place was set back a bit from the street. I slept very well here; I didn't hear any street noise (the street it's on is very quiet). Thanks for a great experience.

    Kelley2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lara's place was wonderful. Everything you need in the kitchen including spices and pots and pans etc is available. There's even a towel warmer in the bathroom and toiletries are provided. It was very clean and in a nice secluded yet accessible location in the Fremont district.

    Dianna2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat in great shape in a classic Seattle Craftsman. Super convenient to Fremont area, and very spacious. Quiet peaceful street was beautiful in autumn. Even left quarters for laundry! Walls are a bit thin in terms of next door unit, but a very minor note to a great spot.

    Conrad2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy studio, a lot of amenities, clean and comfortable space, and a quiet neighborhood with walking distance to local restaurants and bars.

  • We enjoyed our stay in Fremont. It was a great quiet location in easy walking distance from restaurants and interesting sites. The place had everything we needed and a very nice shower! We would definitely stay again.

Enjoy the excitement of Seattle and city life in a quiet and green retreat at the Center of the Universe- Fremont!
If what you’re looking for is a cozy, private cottage with easy access to everything Seattle has to offer, then you’ve found your new home away from home! Our charming cottage was originally built in 1950 and is positioned at the back of the large garden behind the main house. The lush garden provides a private oasis from the bustling city. With a super comfy (full) bed, large bay window and skylights above the bed, the cottage is a dreamy place to relax. As it is a studio, the bedroom, living room, and kitchen are one. There’s a small table and chairs for breakfast or tea. The bathroom has been described as European style – it is a small, tiled room with a toilet, sink, and shower overhead. The water heater is relatively small so short showers are recommended. You’ll find tea, coffee, fresh towels, and other necessities (the bathroom cabinet is stocked with toiletries in case you forget anything). There are 2 beach cruisers you can use to ride down the bike path and explore the neighborhood. Wifi is provided. I’ve been an airbnb host for the last 6 years and it’s such a pleasure to share our space! My family and I love meeting our visitors and are available to answer any questions you have during your stay.
We are a 5-minute walk from “downtown” Fremont (but just far enough to avoid the noise from the bars during the weekend). Here you’ll find dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. The bike path is just down the hill and winds along the ship canal. This beautiful ride (or walk) will take you to the shops in Fremont or further to the U-district (where the University of Washington is). Buses stop at the bottom of our hill and will take you to Ballard in 5 minutes or downtown Seattle in 10. You won’t need a car to explore but street parking is plentiful!
  • The cottage was even more lovely and perfect than we expected! My partner Ryan and I stayed with Nan for an evening and explored the nearby shops and market, and we have already recommended this wonderful little cottage to friends. Nan was a generous and warm host who offered us tea and coffee upon arrival. The cottage is extremely private and decorated with much appreciated intention. Everything was extremely clean and there was even a space heater for when the evening temperature became chilly. I'd recommend this to anyone; truly a divine experience:) Thanks again Nan!

    Krista2012-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nan’s place is the most serene retreat to come back to after a day of enjoying the Ballard breweries. I could not recommend it enough!

  • I loved the cottage! Very walkable location. Surrounded by breweries, coffee shops, and boutiques. Nan has thought of everything. Medicine cabinet was bursting in case you forgot to pack anything and the assortment of teas was excellent. Would definitely stay here again!

  • This was a magical experience from the moment we walked up the path following the lights to our very own little fairy world. Our cottage for three days was every little girl's dream. Nan was like a fairy God-mother - providing everything you need. We felt cared for and special - what more could you ask for. Thank you Nan and Mark and we look forward to seeing you again.

    Roland2013-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nan's backyard cottage was adorable. My mom and I had a great time staying there. Our favorite part was the welcome sign with our names on it! Her backyard is beautiful - it's like a little oasis in the middle of Seattle. Highly recommended!

  • Staying in Nan's cottage confirmed once again the great value in using Airbnb for accommodations when I travel. It's a lovely, quiet place, very private, with access to downtown when you need it. Nan was quick to address whatever I needed in a timely way. I will return whenever possible.

  • The cottage was very cute and clean. It was very neat and organized. It was close to many things that we wanted to do. It really felt like Nan had gone a few extra steps to make us feel at home, like leaving wifi info, bus route info ect. There was a very cute chalkboard welcoming us by name and that was very sweet. The cottage is in the homeowners backyard and they were very quiet, you didn't feel like you were in someone's yard. There are tons of flowers and plants that afford privacy from the house. And they have a pet bunny that graces the back yard on occasion! It was a wonderful experience that I would whole heartedly recommend.

    Rachel2013-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures probably say it all, but I'll add on a few words: this little cottage was terrific. It's exactly as you see in the photos, except for the sense of calm and warmth you feel while you're there. We enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood, too. Fremont has lots of fun stuff, great coffee, good food and drinks. Nan was very open and communicative and I appreciated that. The cottage had everything we needed and even things we didn't: cocoa and tea. I'd go back here all the time if I didn't live a million miles away.

Enjoy your private bedroom and bathroom in a spacious townhouse in the heart of Fremont. Walk to everything Fremont has to offer or relax in a spacious patio. Your bedroom and bathroom are on a separate floor (2nd floor). I live on the top floor. The kitchen, dining room, living room and patio are on the 1st floor and are shared. You are welcome to use all the amenities in the shared space.
Your bedroom and bathroom are on the floor directly above the kitchen and the living room.
Walking distance to everything Fremont has to offer (great restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, microbreweries, lakeshore, etc). Quick one bus ride to downtown Seattle, Wallingford, Queen Anne, Ballard, and University District.
  • Tuan’s place was great - exactly as pictured. Check in was super easy and the place is very close to a lot of great restaurants and coffee shops. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean!

  • We really enjoyed staying at Tuan's place. Tuan was very communicative and a wonderful host. We would highly recommend staying in his condo while visiting Seattle.

    Paulie2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room was a good size with good lighting to read. The room was clean and comfortable with a closet that had an organizer built in so I could get my clothes out of the suitcase. There were good shops and restaurants at the end of the block and I found a 7-11 nearby for gas. It is an easy drive into downtown Seattle for the conference I was attending. Great value!

    Marjorie2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wedding to attend in the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle and Tuan’s home was the perfect place to stay. Tons of restaurants and shops are within a block away from his house. Check in was a breeze as Tuan provided all the necessary instructions to get into his house, along with WiFi info. We spent the days before arriving at Tuan’s hiking through the national parks and Tuan was kind enough to even let us do a load of laundry. The bedroom was large, clean, and came with clean sheets, blankets, and extra pillows. Fresh towels were also readily available in all his bathrooms. If you drove a car, Tuan even has a visitor parking pass. Overall, we had a spectacular stay with Tuan and would definitely stay again.

    David2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Tuan's house. Tuan gave us clear information about the house and check in process which made our arrival easy. The room and house were very clean. We would stay again if in the area.

    Lucy2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Tuan's airbnb is excellent! We enjoyed our stay. The location was great. We will definitely stay there again. Very clean! He's a great person to rent from.

With windows throughout the home, the open-plan space is bathed in light and features beautiful woodland views. With light woods and pops of color, The Chestnut has a rustic quality that feels inspired by the nature surrounding it.
This secluded and very quiet, 370 sq ft in home apartment, space is nestled in the trees with a territorial view to the southwest. If you have an appreciation for hand crafted details this is the place for you: hand made windows, a bed frame made from salvaged fir bleacher seats, owner designed light fixtures, and traditionally crafted woodworking details throughout. The Chestnut stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter with its heated concrete floors. Open all twelve windows south and west and you might think you’re in a treehouse. This space is thoughtfully designed as a restful retreat after a long day of exploring or hectic day of business travel. If you like to cook, the kitchen is complete with a gas range, a full size electric oven, microwave, under counter refrigerator/ freezer, farm style sink, and all the needed utensils.
Perched on the hilltop above the historic business district, the Chestnut provides easy access to Fremont neighborhood and many delicious restaurants and local shops. Look for the many public art pieces nearby or walk along the gorgeous ship canal.
  • Brent was a great host. He gave us many good recommendations of places to eat and drink. His place was quiet, and lovely. A wonderful experience.

    Jay2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brent's place is a unique little hide away that was conveniently located near the bus that takes you into Seattle and a short walk to the Uptown or Downtown of Fremont. We loved the experience of being in the big city for part of the trip and then spending time in the "funky" town of Fremont. We were there 4 days and 5 nights and never wondered what to do next. It was a fantastic vacation and I would recommend to anyone.

    Kathy2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brent’s place is well taken care of with thoughtful planning and appointments. While it is small, it feels bigger because of the attention to detail and custom feel. Brent is super communicative and thoughtful (surprise!) Hope to book again soon!

    Jonathan2018-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay at the Chestnut. It's a beautiful, quiet, and efficient space with thoughtful amenities located in a nice and convenient neighborhood. Brent was very friendly and communicative and gave us a lot of good suggestions for things to do and places to see during our stay, including informing us about Seattle's awesome alternative radio station KEXP. :) Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Faith2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We have a very nice stay with Brent. He made us feel welcomed and spent some time telling us where and when to go see the sights. It's a great little craftsmen apartment. Many fine touches and comfortable. The neighborhood is great and the apartment is easy walking distance to the main attractions in Fremont. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Brent!

    Brenda2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house is what present on the picture, it is awesome. The house is very clean and just like your home. Everything is very special. Brent is a very kind man, he will answer any of my questions. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet.

  • Brent's space is fantastic. This is a special spot for sure. His attention to detail makes every aspect of the Chestnut a delight! I'd highly recommend staying here for a unique experience.

    Brad2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best location in the Fremont area! This cabin type apartment is super cute and cozy. The bed is very comfortable and the shower/bathroom is great. Location is close to all the Fremont attractions. Host was amazing and personally greeted us and provided local travel tips. The one and only drawback is there is limited street parking (totally not the host's fault). I will stay here whenever I come to Seattle! I cannot describe the comfort and uniqueness of this apartment, 10 stars!

A derelict purchase in 1979, we have lovingly restored our traditional 1907 home. Attention to detail and craftsmanship make our home unique, and we are excited to share it with guests from all over the world. Two private rooms and a bath on the upper story are yours to enjoy!
The space consists of a large master bedroom with 2 walk in closets in restored 1907 house. The bathroom is off the hall and reserved for guest use. We have provided robes and slippers for your comfort and convenience. The larger of the walk in closets contains a small partial kitchen for guest use, as the main house kitchen is unavailable for guests. It includes a small refrigerator with freezer, microwave, and electric tea kettle. We have provided dishes and basic utensils for guest use. There is also a small iron and ironing board located there. The second walk in can be used for guest clothing. It also contains some games, toys and books for your enjoyment. Guests with children will delight in our unique hidden cubby hole, with a chair that converts into a ladder for access. There is a large sink with a bar faucet in the bathroom that can double as a place for washing dishes. Dish soap is in the cabinet below, along with a small dish drain and absorbable mat. You will also find a hair dryer, extra towels, cleaning supplies, and bath supplies. A coffee pot, mugs, coffee, tea and sweeteners are on the bathroom counter. For single groups larger than 2, an additional room can be made into a second bedroom by folding out the full size sofa sleeper with memory foam topper. There are stairs involved, since this is the upper level of the house. Also to note, the house is on a hill, about midway up.
Our neighborhood is called Fremont...the self-proclaimed center of the universe! It is located about 3 miles north of downtown Seattle. It is a very walkable neighborhood with many coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, shops, Trader Joes grocery, PCC - a natural food Co-Op, and a large Fred Meyer grocery and super store (like a Walmart). There is even an organic chocolate factory in the neighborhood...offering tours and free samples! There are a lot of local neighborhood art installations as well. And if you are into pubs and breweries, there are a number of them within walking distance. We also have tons of restaurant choices. Downtown is a short bus ride away. We are close to the Ballard Locks, several parks, and a beach. There are Sunday markets in both Fremont and next door Ballard. We have provided walking tour maps of the neighborhood for your enjoyment.
  • We had an amazing stay at Judy's house. The accommodations are spacious and Judy is very responsive. Our son loved the special kids' nook and all the toys. This is a great location to explore Seattle. Great for walking and public transportation.

    Eleanor2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful and charming place. I wish I could have stayed longer. I was taken back in time and it felt so nice! I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for an Airbnb with character and comfort. Judy is a fantastic host and should be hosting a full bed and breakfast hotel, not just a room!

    Mahdad2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love with the charming and unique Victorian decor of Judy's home. The space includes a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room, and kitchenette on the upper floor of a private home. The wide hallway between these large rooms contributed to the spacious feel of the place, which was private as well as spotless. Judy is a very welcoming host who seemed to have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. She provided great coffee and a wide variety of teas, as well as soap, shampoo, and plenty of towels. And since we'd spent very little time in Seattle before this visit, it was especially nice to chat with someone who was as knowledgeable and friendly as Judy. Her home was a perfect base for our exploration of Seattle and we'd love to stay there again!

    Susan2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly hosts, wonderful home in a quiet area, but not far from some really cool Fremont locations. Would definitely stay again!

    Rex2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious private area in their home. Very clean. Had very thoughtful touches. Enjoyed the claw foot tub. Great location for walking and to use public transportation.

    Julie2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Judy's gorgeous house was perfect. I was so impressed her style and sensitive decoration. The neighborhood was also good.

    Elly2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our family enjoyed staying at Judy's place, we loved her recommendations. Great locations but we had a car so ot was easy moving around. It was great to have two rooms all for ourself and all the upstair of the house. The house is super clean, nice deep bathtube with perfect water pressure! We will stay there everytime we go to Seattle.

    Erica2018-03-20T00:00:00Z

Check into a comfortably furnished room in this rustic home - full of song and history and the final of its kind located on a quiet commercial block of downtown Fremont. Its maintained for the comfort of travelers. Each room is clean, with wood-floors, 2-3 comfortable beds with mattress covers, fresh linens, heater, fan, closet, and wi-fi. Safe, peaceful and centrally situated along the Fremont Canal near downtown Fremont.
Your cozy room awaits you! Please let me know which of of the 3 rooms you would like: Grandpas Room: easiest to access, located on main level, attached to bathroom and kitchen, 2 Twin Beds Magnolia Room : upstairs, largest room, 1 Double Bed + 1 Twin Bed or 1 Dbl + 2 Twin configuration Nanas Room: upstairs, 2 Twin Beds, and 1 Sofa-bed
Some call the Fremont neighborhood an "arts district", "a happening 'hood" and I liken it to a modern village. Everything north Seattle is within walking distances, from the picturesque Burke-Gilman trail in front of the house, to the Cafes, restaurants, boutique gift shops, breweries, live music venues, 4-20 stores, grocers and the healthy PCC co-op. Seattle is a wonderful city, but if you go with the flow, you may not even leave this area.
  • Fair. Just as advertised.

  • Farhad’s place is about as centrally located, in relation to Fremont, as it gets. You’re in the middle of the coolest neighbourhood in Seattle. There’s a distillery across the street and fantastic restaurants and bars very close by, yet it’s still quiet and cozy- kind of a miracle. He’s got fantastic taste in decor and the place has tons of character and is really really comfortable. Our room was perfect for three people and he really made us feel welcome. This place also has some history to it and it’s a unique style of house, so this added to our experience too. He was friendly and communicated really easily too. Would stay again!!!

    Kenneth2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Oh what a delight ! Farhad’s house is so charming and peaceful, with a very nice backyard. Farhad has been a wonderful host. We truly got the Seattle vibe we longed for. The only bad feeling it left us was the feeling that we were leaving too soon. Thanks a lot for this experience.

    Claire2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Farhad's place is a Fremont gem, quintessential Fremont and a huge throwback to when it was a less developed part of town. The house is very spacious with pretty gardens out front and a great private courtyard in the back. The proximity of the property to the heart of Fremont is unbeatable - walking distance from anything and everything! It is Grandpa's house and feels like it, but it's super cozy and comfortable. Thanks for the stay, would do it again!

    Agata2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely enjoyed the place. Very convenient walk to downtown Fremont, communicative and thoughtful host, and a comfy house! Amenities are great, no complaints, would stay again!

  • Homey and quaint place to crash that’s walkable to everything in Fremont area. Had a great stay and comfy bed for the night and would stay again
