Mit fogunk csinálni?
Come visit this impressive collection of antique breadboards and table accessories in my family home, while enjoying a quintessentially English Cream Tea in the summer, and in the Winter a Belgian-style Hot Chocolate complemented with Apple Tart if you prefer. It's the only antique breadboard museum in the world, and the collection is attractively displayed and professionally lit. Our visitors come to learn about the boards but also celebrate birthdays, reunions, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, anniversaries and surprise gift experiences!
Breadboards date from the 1830s and come in many shapes and sizes, being exquisitely carved with a wide variety of motifs and mottos. Anything from God's goodness, coronations, weddings, birthdays, and harvests are commemorated on them. I have spent 40 years surrounded by this collection, created by my mother, and I am happy to answer any questions. Cream Tea consists of scones, jam and cream and a choice of English teas. Choose your favorite breadboard to present the scones or tart, and drink tea from my grandmother’s best porcelain.
We were in Time Out, The Times, BBC Online and Radio 4!

I consider it a privilege to open our house to guests who are breadboard enthusiasts, bakers, collectors, museum lovers or fans of The Quirky. This keeps my late mother's passion alive, and I can share all the knowledge I have gained from her as her collection slowly grew over the last 40 years. For more images see our blog: antiquebreadboards.com. I am also pulling together all we know into the first ever book; 'Vintage Breadboards' out in October with Prospect Books!
Hol leszünk?
The museum is located in a Victorian cottage in Putney, Southwest London, in a delightful cul-de-sac just off the High Street. The address will be provided after the booking is completed.

Breadboards -- who knew!? Madeline has quite literally "written the book" on the subject; you get to see examples photographed for the book in the real, and put your hands on them. Madeline has stories about all of the breadboards and tells you about any of them that catch your eye. She's friendly and has a lovely sense of humor. Draws out her guests.
Her aim is to create a "bubble of happiness" and she certainly succeeded. We even learned about the historical backdrop to the existence of breadboards. Then comes the tea, when you choose from a nice selection of tea and coffee, plus we had homemade scones with clotted cream & jam. A thoroughly pleasant afternoon during which we learned something new.

We weren’t totally sure what to expect from this excursion. As interesting as it sounded, it turned out to be even more so. Madeleine was a sweet, knowledgeable host with a clear passion for all things breadboard! The tea & scones were delicious and a nice finish to the outing. This experience was a great value and her neighborhood of Pitney was a great area to explore as well...yet another unexpected bonus.

Bread and tea is basically and daily meal. And also they stand for the characters and identities of England and the people. This is a good way to know how local people live their life an what changes happened in their life , not just the mass but also the Royal families.
