Shinjuku Nichome is the biggest LGBT town in Japan, with over 300 gay bars, so it's not easy to know where to start.
We recommend this experience to everyone who wants to enjoy Nichome's local bars, especially people who are coming to Nichome for the first time! I know it's hard to take the first step into local bars here, especially when traveling on your own. But when we all go together, we can have a great time, and get to know each other!
Before we head into the bar included in the tour, I'll introduce the history of Nichome and some of my favorite bars. That way, we can enjoy Nichome more after knowing what kind of town it is, as one of the most unique LGBT landmarks in the world.

I’m currently 8 years student in university, researching sexuality and gender studies. I have been doing an LGBT tour for 2 years, and have been exploring the LGBT districts of Tokyo for 5 years. So we are professionals of LGBT areas haha. I started visiting Nichome for university fieldwork. After drinking at Nichome, I found that there was nowhere else that I could laugh and enjoy the night so much. As for the results of my research, please let me help you to enjoy the clubs we love here and party with local people!

The description made it seem like i was going to three different bars, but by the time I was picked up apparently I was only joining for the third and final bar of an existing tour, which was very disappointing.

This was fun experience. The tour took us into areas we wouldnt have been able to go on our own. I highly recommend this experience.

I absolutely loved this experience! Naoki showed us a side to the gay scene in Tokyo that I wouldn’t have been able to access otherwise. We went into tiny, hidden bars and he shared with some really helpful context and personal stories that really made me appreciate the space.
