Mit fogunk csinálni?

Seville dresses up for its April Fair—Feria de Abril. We will be very close to the area of the Seville Fair—Feria de Sevilla. We will walk along, enjoying all the colorful, bright flamenco dresses that women wear for this party, and we will be amazed by the purebred horse-drawn carts. We will go into the fairground enclosure until we reach our booth, where we will sit at our reserved tables to eat and drink typical fair food. While we eat, we will be surrounded by music and sevillana dancing—folk dancing similar to flamenco. By the time the experience ends, you'll must leave the table, but you can still be inside the caseta and its atmosphere. You will feel like a Sevillian.
Sevilla se viste de gala para la Feria de Abril.
Other things to note

Hello. Together with my daughter and son, I want to take you through the real feria experience. As good Sevillian people, we love feria, with its flamenco music, rebujito cocktails, and great food. We would like to invite you to our place—our caseta—to show you how we live Feria de Abril.

Hol leszünk?

This experience takes place at Real de la Feria, next to the Guadalquivir River, in Barrio de Los Remedios, between Avenida Flota de Indias and Avenida Presidente Adolfo Suárez. We walk through the fair until we reach our private booth, where we will have a table reserved for the group, very close to the stage to enjoy the live performance of flamenco groups and where we can dance and share those wonderful moments of the Fair.

First of all I must apologise for my negative comments. I really don't like leaving anything but positive reviews however, the sole reason for visiting Seville was to see and experience the Feria. We had been promised a unique experience in the hosts casetta however when we passed lots of cassettas looking for our host, we eventually found them and was taken to something I can only describe as a half empty canteen area that would normally hold about 200 people. We were promised a unique experience, well we certainly got that but not in the way that we expected. We were led to believe that the ladies would receive flowers for their hair as well as a flamenco danciing experience. They were no flowers offered and we saw 10 mins of dancing. We expected fabulous authentic tapas. We were offered 1 plate of local cured meat which was wonderful but another 2 plates of croquettes and squid were left uneaten on the table. I feel I could go on and on but looking at the other reviews I think we must have just got them on a off night. Unfortunately the host Gema, couldn't speak English so we had to communicate through her kids Blanca and Carlos who were quite lovely. But besides the money we paid for the experience, it left us very disappointed. I honestly feel that we would have done better by ourselves. Sorry.

This was a very disappointing experience. The main reason for our visit to Seville was to go to the April Fair. We visited on the last night of the Fair and the hosts seemed to have given up and said they were tired from the other groups they’d hosted during the week. We were supposed to be given flowers for the ladies’ hair but we weren’t. We only saw 5 minutes of Flamenco and the Tapas was average at best. The hosts hadn’t even bothered to wear traditional dress because they’d worn them earlier in the week. It was obvious that just wanted our experience to end. Gemma doesn’t speak English so her daughter, Blanca and son, Carlos spoke to us. They were lovely people but didn’t really give us any information about what was happening. We might as well have just gone to the Fair on our own.

I had to think a long time about this review before I wrote it because it was a very disappointing experience. I planted a two week trip to Spain around the Feria de Seville, and knowing that you had to be a guest to get into a tent, I was thrilled when I found this experience. The reality did not live up to the expectation. To be fair, I have copied and pasted the description below along with my description of what actually happened. Description: We will be very close to the area of the Seville Fair—Feria de Sevilla. We will walk along, enjoying all the colorful, bright flamenco dresses that women wear for this party, and we will be amazed by the purebred horse-drawn carts. Reality: We did not meet and walk through the fair, but were sent the "address" of the booth and told to call Gemma when we got to the entrance and wait for them to come get us. I called three times and there was never any answer to my phone calls, or the numerous messages I sent via the Airbnb app asking for additional help finding the booth. BTW - the experience is not hosted by Gemma, but by her son. There was no map of the fairgrounds provided with the location of the booth marked (so easy to do) and only told it was on a corner. There were multiple intersections along the street, so there were multiple corners, and this booth, along with many others, had no numbers marking the address. No one I asked could tell me where it was, and it took me over 35 minutes to find the booth once I was in the fairgrounds. There were also no tips on navigating to the fair - several of the main streets are closed, traffic is horrendous - it would have been very helpful if the host provided some context. Description: We will go into the fairground enclosure until we reach our booth, where we will sit at our reserved tables to eat and drink typical fair food. While we eat, we will be surrounded by music and sevillana dancing—folk dancing similar to flamenco. We walk through the fair until we reach our private booth, where we will have a table reserved for the group, very close to the stage to enjoy the live performance of flamenco groups and where we can dance and share those wonderful moments of the Fair. Reality: The "private booth" was actually a HUGE booth that could probably seat 350 people. It was not a family booth, but look more like something that was sponsored by a corporation. The food consisted of a croquette, a few bites of ham and a sampling of fried calamari. We had to ask for water, none was offered and it was a very hot day. They did share a beer and some of the traditional fair cocktail, but if you wanted water, wine, more beer or cocktails, you had to go to the cash bar. We were not surrounded by music and Sevillana dancing and we could not see the stage from our table as I feel the description implies, it was a in another area of the tent. We were asked to leave the table when the dancing began to go watch - this was the best part of the experience, watching husbands and wives, parents and children, and families dance together. There were so many opportunities to make this a great experience with very little additional work on the part of the host, but it was clear that they had no experience or interest in making this a memorable experience for their guests. It came off as an opportunistic business opportunity - they had extra seats, and sold them to make some money. At no time did anyone make any effort to share information about the fair, the origins, the meaning of different activities, why tents are private - I actually don't think they had any passion or knowledge to share. I booked over a dozen experiences in Spain, and this was so far below all of the others and am upset I wasted my time and money.

Great experience for this yearly traditional event. If you've never been before, this provides exclusive access to one of the largest tents on the fairgrounds.

This was a great way to experience Feria. Gemma and her family were wonderful hosts and the caseta was very comfortable. You could go to Feria and enter a Enter caseta but you won't get a true Sevillian community experience. I recommend this experience if you want to feel like a local.

Tengo memorias increibles de la noche de Feria. Gracias Gemma y fmailia por cuidarme, explicar las tradiciones y animarnos a participar en las Sevillanas en la caseta!
