Before I even pick my guests up I assess the waves on some of my favorite surf breaks on the West Side of Oahu. Once we arrive to our surfing destination I like to spend some time discussing this particular surf spot, the ocean currents, wave size, the winds and what to expect. I like to spend time assessing each clients ocean comfort, surfing experience and just basically getting to know each other. Before we paddle out, I like to take some time reviewing my tips and watching my students practice their stance and popping up on the board.
Surfing is an incredible experience and offering my knowledge, humor and positive vibes will ensure you an EPIC day!
After we surf I always bring drinks, snacks and can snap some pictures as well!
Other things to note
I prefer small groups and will be with you the entire lesson and beside you as you catch some waves. Expect to have fun, see beautiful scenery and catch some waves! ** Book a time and we can meet at YOUR convenience **

Aloha! My name is Ron Kopasz and my sole intention is to create EPIC surf experiences for anyone visiting Oahu. I have professionally instructed on the island of Maui for several years and then semi retired to raise my daughters! I grew up surfing in Florida and moved to Hawaii 25 years ago where I have been blessed to surf these majestic waters. Surfing to me is the most soul soothing thing that I do and it enlivens me every time I paddle out to catch some waves. Teaching surfing is almost out of this world!! There is nothing more enriching than watching someone catch their first wave!

The North Shore is a surfer's dream! Where we go depends on your experience level and of course the waves that particular day. I know all of the hidden gems, as well as popular breaks.

Ronald is an excellent coach and showed true enthusiasm to help me surf. The bananas and water provided by him were a life saver after all the paddling. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone, as he’s super friendly and safety conscious.

It was a fantastic time! As a guru of the waves, he worked with us on a personal one-to-one basis that got us up on our feet from the start. A truly great experience and a truly great teacher. You won't be disappointed!

This was my first surfing experience ever and i’m glad I got to learn with Ron!! I got to stand on the board and catch so many waves. Ron is such a cool/friendly guy, he is also patient and gives a lot of good tips. I booked twice during my trip on Oahu and i would book again anytime!! I totally recommend

Ronald is a genuine, stand up dude. He's had an interesting life and shares his experiences and insights freely. Even though the ocean was not super cooperative for surfing during the lesson he still made the day fun. Will definitely recommend!

Terrific experience for our two teens with surfing lessons. Ronald really took the time to coach them and worked with each 1:1. He’s a great teacher - very patient! Highly recommend....
