Mit fogunk csinálni?

We discover the Jewish 7th district. We meet at Deák Square or I can pick you up at your hotel if you're in the city centre. You learn about the history of the Jewish District, past and present of the Jewish Community. I show you where was the centre of the Jewish Quarter in the 19th century. You hear the history and developement of Hungarian neologism and interesting stories from that time. We walk along the Király street, the former main street where I show you the Gozsdu Udvar (Courtyard) with its restaurants, pubs and flea markets, we discover the memorial of the former ghetto wall inside a house garden, the Pekary House with symbols of David stars. I show you a market hall, here you can taste/buy Hungarian food. We visit the Kazinczy Synagogue and I will show you where the only working mikve is located. We visit the largest synagogue of Europe in Dohány street, I have the permission from the Hungarian Jewish Community to guide inside the building, I show you the Heroes’ Temple, the monument commemorating the victims of WW2, the Martirs' Cemetery, the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park, the Tree of Life, the "Righteous Among the Nations" Memorial and the Hungarian Jewish Museum. We will see the synagogue in Rumbach street from outside as it is still under reconstruction. I'll tell you the stories how people could survive in time of holocaust, I show you the Carl Lutz Memorial.

Hello, I'm Brigitta, an enthusiastic tourist guide, specialized in Jewish heritage, organizing private tours for small groups. We will walk in the city like a group of friends. I have the permission to guide inside the Dohány Synagogue, so you can come with me to visit it. I put my heart and soul into these tours as a member of Jewish family, this means much more for me than just a job. During my tour I will show you the streets of former ghetto, we will taste a Jewish traditional cake in a famous Jewish cake shop and I will show you the only working mikvah in Hungary. I find it important that those who come to Budapest and want to learn about the local Jewish culture and traditions can find accurate and professional guidance. You'll hear about history and present of the Hungarian Jewish community and the terrifying period of holocaust.

Excellent tour!! Really worth the value for money. The tour was very interesting and I learned a lot about the Jewish community as well as the religion itself. It was so interesting to see the different types of synagogues as well as the streets in the Jewish quarter. The synagogues and Jewish museum are well worth a visit. Also, Brigitta will show you some statues and bits of muriels on the buildings and relay a story behind them which is a unique part of the tour and very interesting. Overall, I highly recommend this tour and any tours Brigitta does. She is a fantastic tour guide with a vast amount of knowledge :)
