I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Kyoto Machiya w/ Shigaraki Open-Air Bath & Garden

Our house is a privately reserved traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse. Unlike a hotel, the entire house is exclusively for your group, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful and authentic stay in a local Kyoto neighbourhood. Inside the house you will find traditional tatami rooms, natural materials such as wood and clay walls, and a small garden with an open-air bath featuring a Shigaraki ceramic tub. Many guests choose for special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries, or memorable journeys.

《May 2019 TV can be watched.》 It is located 15 minutes on foot from Kyoto station. It will be lent to a Kyoto townhouse style building. I put the finest furniture and the finest bed. You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

Traditional "Kyo-Machiya" with open-air bath. Whole house rent for one group, so you can relax with your family, friends or lovers. Please take a bath to recover from the fatigue of your journey. Moreover, we prepare a massage chair, so you will have a good sleep at night. It takes only 2 min walk to "Sumizome Station", so great access to sightseeing spots such as "Kiyomizu Temple" or "Fushimi-Inari Shrine". There are many restaurants and grocery stores around the house.

Just 6 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can walk to imperial palace in 10 minutes. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with garden view. Electric bikes are rent for free. 「Tabitabi Taishi」 remodeled from a traditional Japanese-style [Machiya]. It is designed with a lot of hand-dyed Japanese style Tang paper, wallpapers made of tin and gold foils, and other traditional Japanese crafts and elements. We also retain the original properties of the machiya. Here, you can experience the original and traditional Japan, and also you can feel the ingenuity of combining modern elements with traditional craftsmanship.

Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kiyomizudera, Yasaka Shrine, Tofukuji, Sanjo Ohashi, Uji, and Fujinomori Shrine can all be reached directly by train. Leave your worries behind in this spacious and quiet room.There are convenience stores and drug stores near the house, which is convenient for you to go shopping.
