We are 3 minutes from all of downtown Hammond and 2 minutes to SLU. We are only 45 minutes to New Orleans, 18 minutes to Mandeville/Covington and 35 minutes to Baton Rouge. This beautifully renovated home sits on 5.5 acres with an acre pond. Conveniently located near I-55 & I-12 and about 5 min. from S.L.U. & downtown Hammond. The Gator Getaway is the perfect escape from reality located in the swampy town of Manchac, Louisiana. It is the ideal place for a stay near the water with no boat required! The historic building was the original Church of Manchac and was remodeled into a home. Located within walking distance to the famous Middendorf's Restaurant! Also nearby is the public boat launch, Sun Buns river bar boat taxi, and other local favorite spots! Located about 40 miles outside of New Orleans.

Please read detailed description of property before booking. Set in a 22 acre parcel on the Natalbany River 6.5 miles from downtown Hammond. Enjoy nature with a walk along the trail from house to river. This building has been built with mostly reclaimed, reused and upcycled materials. The rustic interior walls are clad in huge boards milled on the property after Katrina damage. Note the unusual shower with handmade tiles. There are other unique structures on property.
