The nearby Kamishichiken street is one of the most picturesque of Kyoto, being the oldest flower street and just next to your homestay. Japannese teahouses are arranged on both sides of the road in an orderly manner,and often used by Geishas and Maikos.

Reikaku Yasaka | Gion | Historical Machiya

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. The result is Japanese craftsmanship at its best and we are very proud to be able to share the result with the rest of the world. Check our other house as an alternate option @ Reikaku Kiyomizu-Gojo

The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

When renovating the house, we tried our best to keep or reproduce traditional structures such as the pillars, walls, and dirt floor, while replacing the bathroom with new modern facilities. *Lodge tax will increase from 200p.p. to 400p.p. from 2026.3.1
