Wood floors throughout, comfortable leather furniture, king bed in master, 2 twin beds in 2nd bedroom, wifi, 55” LED TV, full size washer/dryer, stove, microwave, kitchen table w/ 6 chairs, tub/shower, full size fridge, propane grill, lawn chairs. Shampoo, soap, coffee provided. Additional twin bed available on porch (spring / summer / fall - AC on porch. Not ideal during cold weather).

School House Cabin

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Quiet and remote. You will see plenty of wildlife and the stars at night, and listen to the coyotes howl. Located 3 miles southwest of Johnstown, NE. This was once a one room grade school that has been converted into a cozy cabin for your enjoyment. No tv, no Wi-Fi, cell service is available. The school house cabin is located next to the Plum Creek Wildlife Management Area and 22 miles from the Niobrara River and 13 miles from Ainsworth, NE.

Sandhills get-away right off the main highway and extremely close to town. Halsey National Forest is just a few minutes away and many great Refuge lakes are in the area between Thedford and Valentine. Beautiful views of the sandhills and Middle Loup river going thru the property, with a small catch & release fishing pond on property. Little House on the Prairie

The Little House on the Prairie is nestled in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills. We are a mere ten minutes from the Calamus River and Calamus Lake (west end) which offers tanking, tubing, boating, and fishing. This is a birders paradise! Bald eagles, prairie chickens, and a plethora of other species to observe will be waiting out your window. Star-gazers will find our night skies free of light pollution. Nature awaits!

The Bunkhouse

Relax with the family at this peaceful,clean, private home with off the street adequate parking and minimal traffic. Quiet neighborhood, large grass yard. Across the street from the Rock County Hospital . 2.5 blocks away from the pool/park. Short drive ( 15 minutes) to the scenic Niobrara River and Pine Creek. Small town feel, friendly! Cozy ranch house located in the north central Nebraska sandills. Just off Highway 20 between Stuart and Bassett, you are also just 45 minutes from O’Neill to the east or 1 hour 15 minutes from Valentine to the west. You can relax with family or friends at this peaceful place to stay. Has a spacious outdoor yard and being the only place on the road there is no other traffic neighbors.

Creekside Calamus West Cabin

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Tucked in the Sandhills close to Calamus Reservoir you will find your home away from home. Enjoy the peaceful scenery with friends and family where you can enjoy the spacious cabin and relax on the oversized patio. Minimum age to rent our cabins is 28 years old. Must provide a photo ID of proof of age.

Fishing, hunting, canoeing the Niobrara River, golfing at the Prairie Club, star gazing or just absorbing the atmosphere at this working cattle ranch are all great options if you stay here.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located retreat. We are walking distance to a small town grocery store, places to eat, and a little shopping. Minutes from the quiet Cowboy Trail where you can bike or walk. Kayaking and canoeing down the Niobrara is near Valentines, NE. It is on hwy 20, west of Bassett.
