Azalea House is on the slope of Mt. Hiei, a world-heritage. To get there, drive 20 min. from Kyoto-Higashi exit on Meishin. Or ride the bus 30 min. from downtown Kyoto or 20 min. from JR Otsukyo Sta. and get off before Hieidaira convenience store. The host will meet you there. Bus service drastically reduced since Covid-19. Free parking space. Easy access to both Kyoto and Lake Biwa. Rich in nature. Completely detached, full privacy, handy & cozy like home. 宮津の中心街から車で10分程度で里山、田園風景が自慢の「上宮津」という地域内で３年ほど空き家になっていた物件をリノベーションして１棟貸しの宿泊施設へと生まれ変わりました。 海までは10分、天橋立までは15分、伊根の舟屋までは45分。 特別綺麗な施設ではありませんが、地域ならではのゆっくりとした時間を過ごしていただます。 基本的にお料理は出していませんが、ご希望の方は近隣のおにぎりcafeの当施設限定朝食おにぎりセットを予約することができます（有料） 地域の方との交流やBBQ、収穫体験などのメニュー、地域内e-bikeツアーなどもご紹介可能です。事前にお問い合わせください。またBBQは一式のレンタルで¥2,200で準備します。（イス、コンロ、炭、火ばさみ、準備から片付けまで）食材は含まれません。ゲストの方でご準備してください。レンタル以外でのBBQはご遠慮いただいています。 ガレージでは、BBQの他、自転車やバイクのメンテナンスを雨に濡れずに行う事ができます。鍵付きの建物内に保管できますので安心して丹後一周する事が可能です。 駐車場は当施設すぐ後ろに駐車スペースがあります。

The oldest remaining residence and company housing in Japan. Situated in the historic silver mine town of Ikuno. Designated as a nationally important cultural landscape with efforts underway to secure UNESCO status. These houses were built by the Mitsubishi Corporation around 1876 and are now designated cultural properties of Asago City. In such a historic building, you can experience accommodation while thinking about the life of the past. Easy access to Kinosakionsen and Takeda Castle.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.
