The Historic Garden Cottage

An historic free-standing building on our 12 acre property "Claremont" (c.1857), the Garden Cottage has been fully renovated to offer a unique place to stay in beautiful, peaceful and historic surroundings. The accommodation is totally private, with a queen bed, en suite bathroom and basic food preparation facilities (fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle). It has a split system for heating and cooling. The Garden Cottage is approx. 3.4 km to the heart of Castlemaine township, and is only a short walk to the lovely Botanical Gardens.

Situated one block from Town Square, Rothesay Cottage consists of the front rooms of an original 1870s home, moved from Newbury by steam tractor in 1928. The overall style is a hybrid of 1870s and 1920s Art Deco to reflect its history. Your queen room boasts a stunning period bedroom suite complete with ensuite. Your snug (cosy lounge) includes the original operational Edwardian fireplace with a modern cupboard kitchenette. The front verandah has been enclosed to create a sunroom with daybed.

Newly renovated Stables in historic Castlemaine offers an opportunity to escape for a weekend or more! The space: recently renovated, living room & fireplace, gas stove kitchen (no oven) with all you need to consume delicious local produce, lofted bedroom & beautiful bathroom. The Stables is set within a beautiful cottage garden and large gum tree surrounds. Central to the Goldfields Region, this cozy, detached bungalow provides a private retreat & a perfect base for singles or couples exploring the area. Basic continental brekky supplies included. It is only 5-minutes’ drive from historic Castlemaine, and only half an hour from Bendigo, Daylesford, Maryborough & Kyneton. Perfect!

A beautiful, historic stone cottage in the heart of the gold fields. simply modernised to maintain an old world ambience and eclectically furnished with family heirloom furniture and special interest collections. Ironbark is within easy walking distance of the local township of Maldon as well as the state forest.

We live on 6.5 acres and are a great base to explore all that Bendigo has to offer; the Art Gallery, Capital and Ulumbarra theatres, Central Deborah Mine, the popular Markets, Music/Food/Wine/Beer festivals and the many great cafes and fine dining options including award winning "Masons" and "The Woodhouse" We live opposite the Bendigo Regional Park which boasts many mountain bike tracks and are also in close proximity to some local wineries.
