Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Kawakawa Hut

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. The location is brilliant, overlooking Acacia Bay’s popular swimming and kayaking bay. Walk to the water in two minutes. The boat ramp is a short two min drive and we are seven minutes by car to Taupo township. The perfect spot for your next break. The views are amazing! A special Kiwi experience!

Vida is a fully refurbished, stand-alone house with modern furnishings and high-quality features. Located in central Turangi, tucked away in a quiet commercial area. It is fully fenced for your dog to join you. Two-minute drive to cafes, supermarket and town. There is ample room for your boat/jet ski if you're heading out fishing on the lake. Turangi is an adventurer's paradise year round and many complete the Tongarario Alpine Crossing as it’s about the closest accommodation you will find.

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

The Historic Shearers Quarters are located 11 kms from SH1, on a working farm that has remained in the family for four generations. We are based in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. A unique accommodation in the heart of the Rangitikei. Light the old shacklock stove, sit back and enjoy peace and quiet- all while only 10 mins from the superb Dukes Roadhouse Cafe. Please note this is a Historic Shearer's Quarters. If you have mobility issues please be aware there are no ramps and only steps.

Relax and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or your favourite glass of wine after a long day on the slopes, biking, walking through our native bushes or horse riding in the local forest. Kowhai Tiny home is a space to relax, get away from the hustle and bustle and wind down. The open plan living allows for intimate interaction while the French doors allow you to move into a cozy outdoor experience.

The Last Church in Apiti

The Last Church in Āpiti is the ultimate escape to relax and discover the stunning Manawatū. In 2021, we were recognised by the NZ Herald as one of the top wellness retreats to visit. Located in the quaint village of Āpiti, set in a valley at the base of the Ruahine Ranges, this renovated Sunday School is a cosy and quirky base to explore the ranges, glow worms, swimming holes, and more. We have a roaring wood burner fire and an outdoor cast iron bath tub for you to enjoy.

The Pavilion

So close to the village, yet set in the countryside there are lambs in Spring and apple trees next door. Eggs are laid by our own chooks, bread, muesli and preserves are homemade. We'll suggest places to visit and restaurants if you want to dine out. Cool off in the pool in summer or take an expertly led yoga class! Take a trip to Hastings or Napier or walk the miles of tracks in Te Mata Park. Ocean Beach is just 15 minutes away and the Sunday Farmers Market just 10!

Historic Bank in Rural Village - a great escape.

Cosy fire, Vault bathroom. Multi-night discounts. Continental breakfast. Cafe and Pub within a two minute walk. River and bush walks a plenty. A fabulous diversion encompassing spectacular views. You will be staying in the character filled, old Kimbolton BNZ Bank (complete with teller box). This is a great Digital Nomad option - with ski fields within 2.5 hours. I live in the "Managers Quarters" which are through a door from the bank (the walls are very thick).
