Shambala - "place of peace and tranquility" - a jewel in the Sierra Foothills on seven acres of magnificent oaks and pines. This one-bedroom cottage sleeps four -- queen bed in the bedroom, comfortable queen sofabed and futon in the living room, full kitchen, smart TV, Wi-Fi, work desk, big windows looking out onto the woods, wraparound deck for lovely outdoor dining. A magical retreat - wildflowers in the spring, a seasonal creek, a dusting of snow in winter - Shambala is your Yosemite secret.

Nestled in the pines of the beautiful Sierra Foothills this quaint, country cottage is the perfect place for you to relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer. It has a bedroom and a bonus room with two additional beds. This is a free-standing home built specifically as a vacation rental cottage in early 2020. It is a quiet, comfortable space in a rural setting with a private patio and views of the Sierra foothills. It is a perfect spot for a family or couple wanting to visit the National Parks nearby (80 min. to Yosemite, 120+ to Sequoia and Kings Canyon). That being said, please read further to learn why there are so many photos of rattlesnakes in my listing. All good things come with inherent challenges...

My place is located in a lively part of Mariposa and is close to nightlife with pubs near to home, restaurants, grocery store , novelty stores, public transportation, the town center, parks, gym,community pool and history center. You’ll love my clean cozy home because of the comfy bed and and just being steps from restaurants, shops and pubs. You will love the ability to park and wander the historic downtown on foot or to catch the Yarts bus into Yosemite! My place is great for a couple.

We named the home "Liichichi Uuchum", which is Hummingbird Home in the local Miwok language because of the hummingbirds in the area. There is evidence of Miwok daily life on this 10-acre property located in a peaceful Oak valley with granite boulders and a seasonal stream. El Portal into Yosemite is a 1 hour scenic drive and Mariposa town is 10 mins. Guests have full and private access. A solar array on the roof and the all-electric home makes your vacation rental with us carbon-neutral.

Hilltop Cottage is a private home on a hilltop in the quaint mountain town of Mariposa. During the summer months you can sit out on our deck and listen to Music On the Green in the Mariposa Art Park while enjoying a glass of one of our local wines. Or, perhaps, take a short walk to a number of our tasty restaurants or bars! Our cottage has comfy beds, a beautiful kitchen, and cozy living spaces...you'll wish your stay was much longer!!!

In town! The Hygge Hillside Cottage

A cozy hidden hideaway located right in the town of Mariposa, an hour's drive to Yosemite Valley and minutes away from cafes, restaurants, shops, and the grocery store. The house was built in the 1940's, and has the charms and character that you only find in a vintage home, but with modern and updated decor. A half way wrap around porch makes for the perfect spot to relax with a drink and enjoy the quite privacy of the property.
