Pod in Athenree

The Pod in Athenree is an ideal base for 1 or 2 people. One Queen bed. Central to Athenree. A 2-5 minute walk for a variety of activities; swimming, fishing, kayaking/boating, biking, tennis, hot pools + playgrounds. Kayaking in the Estuary is tidal. 5 minute drive to Waihi Beach / Bowentown, or you can walk across the estuary at low tide. 10 minute drive to Waihi & Katikati. The studio-styled Pod isn’t a huge space - but it is handy as a base for your holiday. Enjoy our brand new Queen bed!

A cute private glamping set-up nestled in the trees alongside the Wainui River. Here, you'll have a well-equipped outdoor kitchen with power, a cosy cabin with a comfy queen-sized bed, a hot outdoor shower and bath. Explore the beautiful Wainui river on our two-person kayak or curl up with a book and do absolutely nothing at all. There are also plenty of hikes in the area. Pets (inc horses) are welcome. Situated elevated above zone 5 on Lake Karapiro and overlooking the 500m-1000m mark for rowing this is an ideal spot to view all the lake events on offer - be it Rowing, Waka Ama, Hydroplanes, Cycling with the Avantidrome just 15 minutes drive away!

Go for a stroll around the Estuary walk, cross the Estuary at low tide to the wave beach, swim, paddle board, or Kayak at high tide, or soak up the sun on the spacious deck. Only a 2-minute walk from the Athenree hot pools and a 5-minute drive from Waihi Beach. Waihi and Katikati are approximately 15 minutes drive away.
