We are centrally located - a short drive from Acadia National Park, the villages of Mount Desert Island, Indian Point Blagden Preserve, Kebo Valley golf course, Long Pond, Echo Lake, Pirate's Cove mini-golf, as well as several restaurants featuring fresh seafood and locally brewed beer and wine. A pond runs into a small creek in the back where you can sit around a large fire pit and gaze at all of nature’s wonder and beauty.

It’s off grid, cottage core, and has a beautiful & fragrant cedar sauna. We are 27 minutes from Acadia National Park and surrounded by truly gorgeous local beaches. We offer super comfy beds, an outdoor shower, twinkle lights, summer nights filled with fireflies, bright maples in the fall, and cozy winter movie nights in a bed alcove like on a boat.

Bass Harbor headlight, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, and Seawall picnic area. Bar harbor is a 20 minute drive. Nearby is Archies lobster pound, Hansen’s seaside takeout (both walkable) and by car Thurstons lobster pound. And Seafood ketch. There are many other options in the neighboring town of Southwest Harbor.

Snow Sweet at The Appleton Retreat is very private, check out the Trail Map. This contemporary yurt faces the Field of Dreams and has a nice view of Appleton Ridge. It features a private therapeutic hot tub on the deck, a fire pit, and fast wifi. The Appleton Retreat encompasses 120 acres hosting six unique retreats. To the south is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area. To the north is the Nature Conservancy's 1300 acre reserve.
