The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

Mill House - Villa on Forgotten World Highway

This lovely villa was built in the early 1900’s by the McCluggage Family, who operated sawmills in the area. Their endeavors included the construction of a tunnel, in 1924, at the rear of the property to provide access to timber on the Whangamomona Saddle where it still remains today. Mill House is a fully furnished, four bedroom/one bathroom home that comfortably sleeps eight. Whether you are travelling through or looking to getaway, Mill House can provide you with tranquility and relaxation.

Mahoetahi Farm a 30 acres organic farm Greg & I have retired to. Te Awa cottage is modern, light and airy, high stud & 2 generous bedrooms with a comfortable Ikea Sofa bed in the lounge. Spacious dining inside & out. Kitchen/bathroom well equipped & clean. Like to share flowers & produce from the garden when available. We love people & sharing our local knowledge. Lovely little private cabin in Fitzroy. Newly renovated and consists of a bedroom with King size bed. There is a skylight above the bed equipped with a blockout blind. The Bathroom is en-suite with large rain shower. Cosy lounge area with flat screen TV. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided along with microwave, toaster and a fridge. The French doors lead to a decked area overlooking the garden area where you can relax and unwind.
