Enjoy a hot outdoor shower, overlooking the vineyard. Sit quietly in the evening with a glass of wine, around the brazier watching the stars appear, after you have enjoyed the many activities that Mangawhai has to offer. Beach walks, swims, surfing, golf, or any of the many bush walks or local weekend markets.

The Perfect Family Escape! The Shearers' Cottage at Takou River is a cosy, private & peaceful retreat set in our stunning 5 acre subtropical gardens moments from the Takou River. North facing & sunny, it has its own relaxing outdoor bath; cosy wood fire; 5 acres of sub-tropical gardens; private jetty, kayaks & fishing rods & deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream at Takou Bay. The cottage is nestled in 150 acres of organic farmland, native bush & river front, 20 minutes from Kerikeri.

You'll find it's been recently refurbished and is a very tidy self contained guest house with rural views from your back deck, the sea views can seen from the front of the units driveway. We are in a quiet and safe area, a great base to explore the Bay of Islands. Swimming beach within walking distance. Perfect for couples and solo adventurers. Everything supplied, complete kitchen, bbq, linen, etc just bring yourself and your personal affects.

Kaiwaka, the little town of lights, has great cafes but is also perfectly situated only 15 minutes from Mangawhai with the surf beaches.

The Yurt at Wai Rua, west of Whangarei, is approximately 20 minutes drive from Kamo via Pipiwai Road. It is set in a beautiful tranquil farmland area beside a small lake, which is surrounded by native trees. Watch the native birds, ducks and pukekos whilst sitting on the deck. It has amazing rural views, including massive volcanic rocks. The yurt has a separate kitchen, with a small fridge and gas oven and 2hob burners. The bathroom has a hot water shower and composting toilet.
