Mackenzie Motels Backpackers Accommodation

This is not an ensuite room. 2 single beds, satellite/smart tv, kitchenette. Park in front of your door. Private exterior door, internal locks. Very clean, comfortable beds with professional laundered linens. Outside toilet and shower block with 2 toilets & 2 showers, each with lockable doors for secured privacy. Not much soundproofing in the rooms so you may hear your neighbor. But you save hundreds of dollars vs prices in Tekapo. Great value if you don't mind the limitations of the room.

Set on a residential hillside with views of the surrounding mountains, this relaxed hostel is a 4-minute walk from the shops and eateries of the town centre, and an 11-minute walk from Skyline Queenstown gondola and luge. Private rooms add flat-screen TVs. There's also an apartment with a kitchen, and a private balcony offering mountain views. There's limited complimentary parking. Other amenities include 2 communal kitchens, an informal lounge, a drying room and a terrace.

Lakes Edge Backpackers - Twin Cabin

Enjoy a cosy twin cabin at Lakes Edge Lodge. Ideal for friends or solo travellers, the cabin offers a simple, comfortable stay. Note this cabin does not have a lake view. Includes two single beds, with shared kitchen, bathroom, and lounge facilities nearby. Tekapo Village is just a 10-minute walk (or 1-minute drive), where you’ll find cafés, restaurants, and local experiences. Free pick-up is available from the 12:05pm Intercity bus on request.
