Despite the quiet location it is within easy walking distance of local pubs and eateries. Newton Stewart is ideally situated between the countryside and coast of the Machars and the Galloway Forest (dark sky) Park.

Our modern cottage is only 5 minutes walk to the beautiful town of Kircubbin and a short drive to Greyabbey and Mount stewart. Cook local prawns on the BBQ and explore the history of the lough by paddleboard. With the water so close, wake up to the sounds, views & smell of the sea.

Sitting on the shores of the Irish Sea, Keeper’s Cottage provides a comfortable base from which to walk, beachcomb, birdwatch and explore. Close to the villages of Portaferry, Cloughey and Strangford, the area is rich in wildlife and heritage. Or just relax by the fire and soak up the magic of this unique place. Our other cottage, which is immediately adjacent, sleeps 4 and people often rent the two properties together for larger groups.
