Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

The Historic Shearers Quarters are located 11 kms from SH1, on a working farm that has remained in the family for four generations. We are based in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. A unique accommodation in the heart of the Rangitikei. Light the old shacklock stove, sit back and enjoy peace and quiet- all while only 10 mins from the superb Dukes Roadhouse Cafe. Please note this is a Historic Shearer's Quarters. If you have mobility issues please be aware there are no ramps and only steps.

Gum Tree Haven

Our place is close to the great Tongariro National Park. It includes Mt Ruapehu for skiing or snow boarding and tramping. Walk the world famous Tongariro Crossing and discover the cycle ways, kayak the Whanganui River and explore the 'Bridge to No Where'. Try trout fishing, a game of golf or visit the Waiouru Army Museum. Enjoy our cosy home with a wood fire whilst taking in the amazing mountain and rural views. Our place is good for couples and families (with kids) or small groups.

Ohingaiti Farm Cottage

Located on State Highway 1... 2 hours south of Taupo, 2 hours north of Wellington & 1 hour to Ohakune. Enjoy a wine on the deck looking out at the operating sheep and beef farm. Our restored shearers quarters are modern, warm, bright and comfortable. Double glazed, fireplace, insulated, infinity gas and beautifully decorated. We have free Wifi. ChromeCast on the TV. The Last Church in Āpiti is the ultimate escape to relax and discover the stunning Manawatū. In 2021, we were recognised by the NZ Herald as one of the top wellness retreats to visit. Located in the quaint village of Āpiti, set in a valley at the base of the Ruahine Ranges, this renovated Sunday School is a cosy and quirky base to explore the ranges, glow worms, swimming holes, and more. We have a roaring wood burner fire and an outdoor cast iron bath tub for you to enjoy.

Cosy fire, Vault bathroom. Multi-night discounts. Continental breakfast. Cafe and Pub within a two minute walk. River and bush walks a plenty. A fabulous diversion encompassing spectacular views. You will be staying in the character filled, old Kimbolton BNZ Bank (complete with teller box). This is a great Digital Nomad option - with ski fields within 2.5 hours. I live in the "Managers Quarters" which are through a door from the bank (the walls are very thick).
