Q May I bring my pet?
A Unfortunately, no. No pets are ever allowed inside (or outside) our home.
Q May I smoke inside the home?
A No. Nor may you smoke outside the home. Vista Del Mar is strictly a non-smoking zone. In fact, smoking is prohibited in all common areas of The Sea Ranch community.
Q May I wear shoes in your home?
A In a word, no. All shoes (including flip-flops) must be left outside the door(s).
Q Are towels and linens included?
A Yes! Fresh white linens and bath towels are provided at no extra charge.
Q Is daily housekeeping included?
A Your stay does not include housekeeping service, but it is available (for an additional fee) if pre-arranged prior to check-in.
Q Is high-speed internet available?
A Yes! As of 2017 our home is subscribed to the Sea Ranch Connect network providing guests with internet download and upload speeds up to 50 Mbps.
Q Is there a hot tub?
A There sure is…and you can relax knowing it’s professionally cleaned between guests.
Q Are there parking restrictions throughout The Sea Ranch?
A Yes. The Sea Ranch community is private property, and vehicles may only park where designated. Also, no motor homes, trailers or boats may be parked at our home at any time.
Q Will I need vehicle passes?
A Yes. Two vehicle passes are provided at check-in, which allow you to park at The Sea Ranch’s recreational centers and along clearly-designated roads.
Q Does it cost extra to use the recreation centers?
A No. With valid guest passes, as many as six visitors may register for access to The Sea Ranch recreation centers at one time. You receive your guest passes at check-in.
Q How many people am I allowed to bring?
A Sea Ranch community guidelines stipulate that we may not rent to parties of more than eight (8) people – and children are included in this total.
Q May I bring my kids under age 10?

We’re proud to be the second generation in our family to own this beautiful custom home – and we've created countless warm memories here. When the opportunity presented itself to assume sole ownership, it was truly a dream come true. Because Vista Del Mar was originally designed as a year-round residence, we realized we didn't want our beloved house sitting idle in between our own getaways to Sea Ranch (we now reside on the San Francisco Peninsula). This seaside home isn’t just another impersonal vacation rental…it’s also still our family retreat whenever we can get away. And, as it turns out, making Vista Del Mar available to responsible families and/or couples as a vacation rental has made the Reis family – and our many guests – very happy.
While Vista Del Mar may be new to the Airbnb community, we’ve welcomed hundreds of rental guests over many years. You can rest easy knowing we’re seasoned veterans who take great pains to personally manage our treasured (and immaculately maintained) family property.
Why We Chose Sea Ranch:
The land was purchased when Sea Ranch first sprang up as a community (back in the late 1960s when there were only dirt roads). Being pioneers in this new town, our family was able to select the best of the best from all the available lots. Knowing that an ocean-front home – with steps-away access to a secluded beach – was on everyone’s wish list, the unique property on which Vista Del Mar now sits became part of the family. Speaking of family, guests often comment how “luxuriously inviting” it feels to stay with us. One main reason is this home wasn't built to be a part-time, weekend getaway house. From day one, the family was committed to designing and building a home to be enjoyed as their personal residence.
Our family has been active in Sea Ranch for over 40 years and we’re fully invested in the local community and its welfare. A portion of our rental income goes back into local businesses and social causes – as well as a range of non-profits including the “Coastal Seniors” project, Redwood Coast Humane Society, the Gualala Arts Center and the Redwood Coast Medical Services (providing medical, dental and counseling services).

There truly is nothing like Vista Del Mar in all of Sea Ranch. First and foremost, we’re one of very few owner-managed rental properties in the community. You won’t be dealing with an impersonal management firm; we’re hand-on owners who also have a local caretaker who oversees our property. With comfortable sleeping space for eight adults, every room in our 3,000+ sq. foot home has an unobstructed ocean view. The large, well-equipped kitchen is a cooks’ dream, the rec room has a Foosball table and there’s even a reading library and stocked games closet. Or you can just kick back in front of the 46” HDTV (with 230+ channels). As far as music goes, we have an amazing Bose Acoustimass 10-speaker sound system – as well as a baby grand piano in the main living area that overlooks the ocean. Step outside and enjoy the 1,600 sq. foot deck (with a BBQ connected to the home’s gas line) and a private ocean-view spa. You’re only 50 feet away from the ocean bluffs where you can explore the secluded beach directly below. Vista Del Mar offers a tranquil getaway and convenient access to the best part of the California coast. We know that you will come to love Sea Ranch just as our family has.
One Final Note:
Because we have made a significant investment in our home, we require that all guests sign a short-term rental agreement and return it to us within 24 hours of a reservation being confirmed. This document clarifies not only the terms in which we make our home available to Airbnb guests, but also the rules established by the Sea Ranch Association for every vacation rental in the community. Also bear in mind that any applicable Sonoma County taxes are not included in our posted room rate.
