The Bow House is a timber frame that was originally a barn in Eddington, Maine. The timbers were cut on a water powered saw mill...circa mid-1800's. You will find plenty of old world charm in addition to the amenities that will make your stay comfortable. These include: gas cook stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer & dryer, air conditioner, bathroom heater, gas heater in common area, iron and ironing board.
Guests are sole inhabitants of 3.75 acre property with plenty of parking and a short drive to downtown Stonington (2 miles), grocery store (2 miles), and Old Quarry Ocean Adventures (1 mile).
There are numerous hiking trails available on the Island and you can learn more by visiting the Island Heritage Trust website. Once there, click on the "Visit Our Lands, Trails, and Islands" tab
Deer Isle is also the home of the internationally renowned Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. (10 miles) You can take a guided tour of the school while in session on Wednesdays at 1pm or attend an evening lecture/slide show of visiting faculty artists.

I'm from North Carolina and have lived in Maine for the past 25 years. I am a studio jewelry artist, married to the wonderful carpenter who built this Airbnb listing.
