With respect, Nancy, most of the things you cite in your review are very clearly set out in my listing. Shoes are not allowed upstairs because that is where I have cream carpet, and I have no wish to have mud tracked into it. Neither do I let my guests have food or drink other than water upstairs because I don't want cola spilled on the bedding and sticky substances on the furniture. Those rules apply to me too! Guests are more than welcome to use the kitchen in the morning for their breakfast but as you had an early start at Stonehenge it wouldn't have worked out that way for you. When I said you could leave your luggage it was on the understanding that you would have vacated the room and put your luggage in the garage so that I could prepare for my next guests. As it was you left for Stonehenge earlier than you said you were going to (i.e. 05:30) while I was still in bed. You left your belongings scattered all over the room so I couldn't clean it and you didn't return until gone noon, 2 hours after check-out time, and there was no need for you to have a key as I was not going anywhere. There is seldom a need for guests who are staying for only one night to have a key.
Slicking the water off the shower walls is not a requirement - it is a request as it reduces the build-up of lime-scale.
I did not have to collect you from the bus stop but I did it as a kindness because it was late in the evening, nor did I have to sit up with you until gone midnight to help you plan your route as you had arrived clearly unprepared. I do my very best to help my guests and hitherto they have all read, listened, and understood - even those whose mother tongue is not English.
I wish you the best, but please do try to listen to your hosts.
