Welcome to The Lime Tree Room! Just minutes from the #1 rated beach in the U.S. The Gulf Coast is truly amazing! A hely
Super clean artsy, boho in-law apartment with large walk-in shower in the private bathroom. Comfortable double bed with bamboo linens and pillows.

Layered mood and task lighting and ceiling fan. All newly decorated and tiled.

Lots of good books and DVDs if you just want to chill.
Excellent Wifi. Charging Station. PERFECT for single travelers. Couples who don't have a ton of baggage and want to spend time exploring will be comfortable. The apartment is accommodating, but not large - so lots of luggage...less space! Super for adventurers who are here to enjoy SRQ (as Sarasota is locally known) and beach it.
Separate entrance from main house. Lock and deadbolt. Motion lights.

Covered sitting outside if you want to have coffee in the mornings, eat al fresco or just chill and read. Our neighbors are quite lovely and will stop by to chat if you are in the mood.

Apartment has a wine cooler/fridge, electric tea kettle, French press pot, wine glasses, coffee cups, utensils, coffee and teas, blow dryer, beach towels, blankets & chairs. Umbrella, market satchels, water bottles, yoga mat, bathrobe, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner & body wash.

I always stock with WC with shampoo, soaps and basic toiletries because I dislike the 3 ounce rule!

Beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards and coolers are here for you to use. And, yes...you can bring them on the buses. Lots of AWESOME delis (Piccolo's Italian - yum) and sandwich shops within five minutes if you want to pick-up a lunch. Two minutes to Publix Supermarket & liquor store. Publix has pretty nice take-away sandwiches and salads.

Closet with hangers. Ironing board (although, I've never ironed anything down here!)

I prefer that you don't bring food into the apartment...(it's Florida and #bugs!) ... Although I hardly ever see one. Eco treated every 60 days.

Lucretia McEvil, The Cat, lives in the Main House, but rarely ventures out when there's guests about and has never been in the apartment. No allergy complaints.

Please NOTE! Washer and dryer access for guests staying more than six nights is free of charge (one load per machine every 6 nights). $5.00 per wash and dry if booking is less than 4 nights. There’s an excellent coin op five minutes away.

Apartment has BLACKOUT curtains - it's dark and cool. Perfect for vacation sleep, especially after sun-worshiping all day. Quiet. Peaceful. Comfy.

Mit használhatnak a vendégek?
CHECK IN AFTER 3:00 pm - CHECK-OUT BY NOON. If you have a late flight or want to beach it, I am happy to hold your belongings in the main house.

Private Entrance with motion detected lighting. Second fire exit. Off-street parking. Safe street and quiet neighborhood.

*NOTHING (like feminine products) or wads of TP are to be put in the toilet. If this request is disregarded resulting in the need to hire a plumber, the guest will be liable for the costs. Please consult the house manual upon check -in. Thanks!
Contact available 24/7.

Check out what the local playhouses and performing arts centers are offering during your stay - they are incredible!

The Players, a SRQ historical beauty, has been here since 1936 and is community theater at it's best and one of my favorites. Very reasonable!

The Urbanite Theater, for those with a yen for edgy art, is superb. The performance and art direction is as good as anything you'd see in New York or London.
The Florida Studio Theater on Palm Avenue downtown is fabulous.
Burns Court Theater is in a historic building and shows the best indies.
Plan ahead to see where the locals are hanging and check out the craft breweries all over town ( JDubs, Mr. Beerys, Calusa, Big Top, Sarasota Brewing to name a few) - They often have music and food trucks and sometimes the Circus even shows up.
For national and international performances - Our Crown Jewel, The Van Wezel - on Sarasota Bay by the 'Kissing Sailor' statue.

Drum Circle at sunset every Sunday on Siesta Key. Free! Free yoga - check local listings for times and beach locations.

Treasure Hunt at Circus City Salvage. Find incredible pieces of Sarasota's circus history.

All Things Ringling - The Ringling Museum is top-notch. Entrance is $25... if you're a culture-vulture, it's worth it. FREE on Monday! Always $5.00 with student ID. The Muse restaurant has excellent, well-priced food and serves up some delicious veggie options (the Beyond Burger $13.00 in amaze-ing) Car or Uber to N. Sarasota or bus from Gulf Gate. I Uber too!

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a world class tropical, urban oasis featuring unparalleled horticulture displays (and a real rain forest!) on a Sarasota bay-front setting. Bus, Car or Uber to Sarasota Bay/301 (5.8 miles).

Phillipi Creek Farmer's Market - Wednesdays 8-1:00 - music, food. 2.3 miles.

Downtown Sarasota Farmer's Market is a must. Pedestrian only market...live jazz/music, puppies and kittens (really), awesome food trucks, cheese mongers, fruits, local merch, great open-air bars and cafes (Mattison's City Grill is my fave), people watching. By bus, car or Uber to city center parking. Saturdays, 8-1:30 (6 miles).

Beach Cruiser bikes, jet-skis and water-sport rentals - 5 minutes over the bridge - check out CB's Watersports under the newly built 'Daiquiri Deck' or The Boatyard Restaurant, which has great music and cold beers right on the Inter coastal 7 nights a week during the season.

South Sarasota is quickly becoming the SUP (stand up paddle board) capital of the world! With calm Gulf of Mexico waters and protected estuaries in and out of the Inter Coastal Waterway, it's the perfect place to grab a board. I am a big fan of SUP-ing. I have a few hook ups for board rentals that aren't insanely priced and know the good 'put outs' - There's nothing I enjoy more than a quiet escape through water fowl filled mangroves. It's primordial. Good for the body and soul. #LiveLoveSurf Let me know ahead of time and, weather cooperating, I can get you going.
Also, Living Social Sarasota or Groupon has a number of good deals.

There is no landline in the house or apartment. There is WiFi throughout. Gulf Gate Library is a 10 minute walk if you need a computer - I can print for you.

Discover all of Gulf Gate's awesome coffee shops & pubs if you want to get on their WiFi. The Clever Cup is a minute's walk - very sweet staff, great coffee & tea and free WiFi.

Bus Route / SCAT - From the The Lime Tree Room - schedules in the apartment.

GREAT Breakfasts are just a minutes walk. Try Ooh La La for incred French quiche, pastries and coffee or Word of Mouth for a filling traditional brekkie. Their Boston omelette is a winner.

If you ever get tired of the world class beaches or slurping oysters and listening to live music in Siesta Key Village, 'Tavern Town', the heart of Gulf Gate, is literally a few minutes walk. Find everything from local watering holes ($2-3 pints/food specials & happy hour 3:00-7:00) to award-winning sushi, Thai, our local brewery, Sarasota Brewing Company, features six brews and ales made right there, Mr. Beery's (my favorite - No Crap on Tap!) French coffee houses, Chicago pizza, peirogis, authentic/romantic Italian, Irish pubs and sports bars, late night munchies, tattoo shops and consignment stores, tiki bars, scooter rentals...you name it! And no worries about partying and driving since it's all within walking distance. (But the apartment is super quiet)
Publix Super Market /liquor/beer is .04 miles.

Heaps of menus, brochures and cultural info on hand.

I'm a super chill person. Love nature and being on the water more than anything. I was a professional chef for 27 years. After leaving the line, I received a degree in film making and journalism. I love to travel, write, read and most of all, cook for friends! I have traveled extensively. I've lived abroad whenever possible and took a year off from 'the world' to volunteer to teach English to novice Buddhist monks in Laos and Thailand. I have a very liberal attitude. I love being a Floridian, even though I'm a home-grown New England girl. I am committed to practicing good karmic behavior, being Eco-conscius and giving more than I take. I hope you come to hang out!
