Recently remodeled 600 sq. ft. basement room with private bath and kitchenette that gets good light through two windows -- a large West-facing bay window and a second North-facing window. No separate entrance (guests enter through the townhouse's front door; other residents live on the 2nd and 3rd floors). Coffee and tea provided free of charge, as well as basic toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and moisturizer. The place sleeps two people in the same bed (queen-sized bed). Reservations for this listing are for two people, maximum.

Street parking for non-residents is limited to two hours maximum between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Street parking is free overnight, from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. If you need parking between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, there's room for one car on the parking pad in the back of the townhouse. Kindly park off to the far left so that residents can get in and out of the garage.

I work full-time but am accessible by cell phone and email.

Station North is a vibrant neighborhood in Baltimore's Arts and Entertainment District. It's a place that's constantly evolving, with more and more artists moving in every day. New artistic work spaces are also being built, like the 34,000-square-foot "OpenWorks" facility at 1400 Greenmount Ave that houses shared space for woodworkers and craftspeople. And a few blocks away on North Avenue, the Maryland Film Festival recently purchased the historic Parkway Theater, which will be remodeled in time for the next festival in March 2017.

Guests are welcome to park one vehicle on the parking pad behind the townhouse, close to the chain link fence so permanent residents can get their car in and out of the garage. Penn Station, with regular trains to Washington, D.C., is two blocks away. So is the city's free Circulator bus, which runs to the Inner Harbor and connects to other fun neighborhoods like Harbor East and Fells Point. And Johns Hopkins has a free shuttle that leaves from Penn Station and goes to the hospital, the School of Medicine, and the Homewood campus too.

Though you will have full privacy in the basement room, you do need to access the room through the home's main front door, which means you may run into the permanent residents: the friendly parents of a four-year-old boy and a Hopkins grad student and her adorable dog.

Before they check out, guests are expected to strip the bed and place used bedding and towels in a basket in the room. They are also expected to wash their dishes, run a disinfectant wipe in the kitchenette and bathroom (including sink, shower and toilet area). Used wipes should be placed in either of the trash cans, not flushed down the toilet. We ask guests to do this minimal cleaning because we are very flexible with check-in and check-out times, and this ensures basic cleanliness in the room in case a new guest arrives to drop off luggage before we've had a chance to clean the room. We also ask that guests not bring in outside people for paid services.

Rebeka

Rebeka

Baltimore, Maryland, Egyesült Államok · Csatlakozás időpontja: 2016. november

We're an easy-going couple with a 5-year-old boy. We've lived in Baltimore for about seven years. Rebeka works for a humanitarian organization and Ray is retired from the military. Prior to Baltimore, Rebeka worked for the UN overseas, while Ray served for 25 years in the US Air Force. Rebeka grew up in Switzerland, Ray in Mississippi. We also live with Kendra, a grad student at Hopkins and her adorable dog Raycharles. As hosts, we take our cues from our guests. If you're traveling alone and would enjoy our company, we're happy to oblige. And if you prefer to do your own thing, we're fine with that too. Our goal is for you to enjoy your stay. As older parents, we're happy just to watch our little boy grow up. And having traveled quite a bit in our previous jobs, we're both quite content to stay put and leave the traveling to others.
