The Most Unique Vacation Rental in Key West – With Infinity Pool and Private Beach Access!
This place was not luxurious but did allow us to sleep seven people at a reasonable cost, and while there were only two bathrooms we had access to the showers at the pool clubhouse (a longish walk but still quite helpful to have). Nice places to sit up top and on the back of the boat. Big refrigerator so we could buy whatever food we wanted. Check in was very easy.
Very unique and pleasant experience. Overall, we had a nice stay. I will say I have never stayed at a marina or on a boat before, so take that into consideration. Tight quarters inside, bathrooms are small, living room could use more seating. Master bedroom and 2nd bedroom are very nice. We went in July so it was very hot, so you could not walk to pool and clubhouse. Pool is great, but if you have kids (I do) there are rules. There is a adult only section of the pool and patio are..like an imaginary line. I found that a little odd. We ate at the Clubhouse one night, lovely. Also, the point of me staying there with my boys was so they could fish, but I guess I was naive to the fact that you can not fish there. That was a major disappointment for them. Downtown Key West (Duval Street) is a bit of a drive 15-20 minutes depending on traffic and lights. Close to other boats and neighbors, not much privacy. We liked it here and thought it was a once in a lifetime experience. Looking at the stars from the top deck at night was very cool. Mallory Square at sunset was fun. Grocery store was a few miles away, that was helpful. Ray, the site manager, was very helpful and answered any questions I had. You will need the wifi password from him to connect. In general a nice stay and very different setting.
Overall this was a pretty cool experience. The marina, pool and beach areas are all very clean and nice. The biggest negative to our stay was that the clubhouse had booked a wedding for one of the two nights of our stay. All the amenities were closed after 3 pm for this private event which meant we could not use the pool, beach, bar and restaurant. This is not the fault of the airbnb owner but it would have been nice to know about the event ahead of time because we probably would chosen a different location. I would suggest checking with the clubhouse first before booking your stay to ensure you don't run into the same problem. Another thing to note is that you are not allowed to bring your own food or drinks to the beach or pool area.
Fun & charming trawler. Views were spectacular. Only drawbacks ... close to other boat rental & 20 -30 min drive to Duval St. Pool was nice (not walking distance). Scenic pathway to end of pier where you could sit out and Boat rooftop deck was great to eat out & catch the sunset. Overall a great place to rent!
This is a unique and interesting airbnb home. We enjoyed our stay but would have been better prepared had we understood some features associated with living on a boat. The marina views from inside and out are great! The private beach at the marina is small and doesn't provide much direct access to the water. Also if wifi is important to you, be sure to ask for the option that is password-protected.
