We spent two weeks in August here on a family holiday with 3 young children visiting friends and sightseeing. We enjoyed the spacious house and garden and especially the swimming pool which we used almost every day. We had access to the whole upstairs (3 double bedrooms and a bathroom) and all of downstairs (hall, kitchen/diner/living room) except for 2 private rooms. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, large oven and hob and plenty of cutlery, plates, pans etc
Outside, there was lots of space for the children to run and play in the garden and also a patio with table, chairs and sunshade. The pool had a shallow end and sloped down to the deep end from half way.
Our host stayed in the house most nights but we rarely saw her during the day. She was very considerate and gave us plenty of privacy. She was very friendly and easy to get along with. She speaks very good English. She also had a lovely little puppy, which we hadn't expected, but our children really enjoyed playing with him. In the small field next to the garden, our host keeps a couple of sheep. Her neighbour comes each morning to feed them. We talked to him a couple of times and he was really friendly.
The area is really nice. It is right in the countryside, surrounded by corn fields, and is lovely to walk around. It is a 20 minute walk to the nearest bakery (2 mins in the car) in Opprebais, which also sold local meats and other items. There is an old windmill nearby which is nice to walk to. There is a good choice of supermarkets within a 5 to 10 minute drive away. We visited Namur, Dinant, Waterloo and Brussels, which are all easily accessible by car.
