This 2-story house is charmingly furnished with Spanish and French antiques, has upstairs bath and downstairs W/C under the stairs, large loft bedroom with queen-size bed and child's daybed, and living room and sizable kitchen down stairs. It has a garden, and big backyard beyond. There are local shops such as a bakery for daily croissants and baguettes, cafes, and a supermarche all within walking distance. There is a 14th Cent. Abbey at the center of town which hosts music festivals in the summer and also provides regular tours of the buildings and grounds. The village itself was built on Roman ruins and has canals running through out the center of town where the monks used to bring the crops to the Abbey on small barges. It is truly a fascinating place in and of itself!!
The town of Pontlevoy is approx two hours south of Paris either by train or car, and lends itself well as a base camp for daily excursions for all the historical sights that this region has to experience as well as fine dining everywhere.
The entire region of the Touraine and the Loire Valley boasts wine tasting vineyards, Roman ruins, dozens of historic chateux, picturesque biking routes, wonderful cuisine, and an easy, culture filled lifestyle!!

I feel that TV and internet are a distraction from "disconnecting" and truly enjoying France in a traditional way.
Please do not move the furniture around or remove anything from the house!! Thanks!!
I live in the US, having bought the house 35 years ago when I was working and living in Spain. When I moved back to the US from Spain, I shipped my antique furniture up to the Pontlevoy, and also furnished the house with some local French antiques. I have a property manager in town that takes care of renters.
My son and I are artists so we love fixing up properties! I'm originally from Calif., where we have the Rancho Los Abuelos property, but have been living in Miami Beach for 25 years, where I own my home. I was working in Europe when I bought the cottage in France over 40 years ago. I enjoyed sharing my Pontlevoy experience with friends and now with guests. I have always been thrilled to be in my Little House in Pontlevoy, which for me is like stepping into a time capsule. My furnishings are antiques so one never knows what year it is!!! My son and I also recently inherited my mother's home in San Diego, so we would now like to share it with folks to enjoy San Diego Country living for events, weddings, yoga retreats and family reunions. And, now we are also sharing a couple of guest rooms in our Miami Beach home with folks as well. We do love to save animals through rescue here in Miami, so we do need guests to be pet friendly and unfortunately can't host people with problematic pet allergies. Thanks for your understanding.
