Please see our other listing "Adventure+Relaxation! Near Mt. Fuji, Hakone & Izu~" and put your booking through there, NOT this listing please as we have moved over to the new apartment :)! The photos on this listing are the SAME as our NEW listing. They are all photos of our new apartment (the other listing). We have had many people stay at our new apartment and they love it even more than our previous one because it's bigger and even closer to Numazu station! Just a 9 minute walk!

A kiadó hely

Up to 6 guests can fit comfortably in our apartment. We love to make our guests feel as welcome as possible and are more than happy to help out in any way we can. We are more than happy to make recommendations for great places to visit and sharing our experiences of travelling in Japan with you.

You will have access to the kitchen and are welcome to use it to cook your meals, but before using it please make sure you carefully read and watch the video regarding instructions on how to use the kitchen stove etc. that I will send to you in the form of a document soon after you book. Enjoy!

We love to share our travel experiences with guests in the house and are more than happy to help you find your way to the places you'd like to visit as well as provide tips and recommendations for more exciting adventures! We have climbed Mt. Fuji before, visited Hakone and travelled around many places in the Izu area so we will be happy to give you advice on these areas. I have also travelled vastly around Japan in my time here and it would be my pleasure to advise you on these places too.

Egyéb fontos dolgok

First of all, thank you so much for coming to our humble home! PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING AS SOON AS YOU HAVE BOOKED, AND AGAIN JUST BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL :)! Also, please send me a message notifying me of your check in and check out times as soon as possible so that we can make the required arrangements.

Andy and I are so excited to be able to host new people, make new friends and share our experiences with others. We love to travel but don't necessarily have the funds to always do it, so we understand just how important it is to stay at places that are inexpensive but feel as comfortable as home. We hope that you can make our home your home, and treat it with respect and love just as you would your own.

How to get to our house from Numazu station:
Please EXIT Numazu station from the NORTH EXIT. Here is a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map from the station to our house:
(URL HIDDEN)

How to get to our house using landmarks:
After exiting the North exit ticket gates, continue straight, and you'll see a Lawson convenience store. At that convenience store, turn right and cross the road to the 7/11 Convenience store. Then turn left immediately after the 7/11 convenience store and continue straight all the way – straight through the lights and then you will see our apartment on the right hand side. Our apartment is easy to recognize, because there are about 4 or 5 car parks directly in front of the apartment. Please take the keys from mailbox 202 and then go up the stairs to apartment 202 (our house). For groups of 4 people, there are 2 beds available for you to sleep on – one in the living room and one in our private bedroom. Please of course, leave the house in a tidy state when you leave ☺.

Hopefully it all makes sense, but please let me know if you are still not sure of how to get to our house after reading all this information and looking at the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map.

HOW to unlock the mailbox and ENTER OUR HOUSE:

The mailbox (202) can be found on the right side of the stairs. Turn the nob on mailbox 202 to the right two times, ensuring that you stop at A both times. Then turn it left once, stopping at B. With this, you can now open the mailbox. Here is a link to see how to open it in action: (URL HIDDEN)

WHEN LEAVING THE HOUSE: Please ALWAYS make sure that you put the keys back in Mailbox 202 when you leave the house, even just for a few hours. To lock the mailbox, simply turn the nob to a random letter other than A or B. The reason for this is because I may need to use these keys to get back into the house while my boyfriend is at work!

PLEASE ALSO WATCH THIS VIDEO BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL:
(URL HIDDEN)

The above video explains important information regarding the use of our house; including the location of light switches and so forth.

Great places to have lunch/dinner in the area:

Ramen Kangoku Crazy Ramen Restaurant – Delicious pork broth ramen. One bowl of ramen only costs about 750 yen. This place is just a 3-minute walk from our house (just around the corner). It's our favorite ramen restaurant! Click here for some pictures of the vast variety of ramen available:
(URL HIDDEN)

How to get there: From our house, just turn right, and then at the traffic lights, turn right again. Continue straight and then you will see it on your right-hand side. Just in case, here is the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map to get there:
(URL HIDDEN)

Wagaya restaurant – a delicious all you can eat restaurant with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and plenty of delicious food and desserts! There is so much variety so it has something for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans! It costs about 1900 yen including taxes at LUNCH and about 2300 yen including taxes at DINNER.
You can see the huge variety of foods available there at their website here:
(URL HIDDEN)
Here is a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map to it:
(URL HIDDEN)

Numazu Port (‘Numazu Ko' in Japanese) – this port is famous for its delicious sushi, sashimi and sundried fish (‘himono' in Japanese) and more! There are many restaurants to choose from. We highly recommend the “Numazu-don" from “Kamome-maru" there. Here are some photos of the menu:
(URL HIDDEN)

Map for “Kamome-maru"
(URL HIDDEN)

How to get to Numazu port:
Take Bus number 1 or 2 from Numazu station SOUTH exit. To get to the South exit from our house, please see this (URL HIDDEN)

There is also a bus back from Numazu Port to Numazu station (‘Numazu eki' in Japanese).

Use of the kitchen:

You are more than welcome to use our kitchen. I recommend going down to the local supermarket, “E-SPOT" to purchase your food. You are welcome to any of our kitchen utensils, pans, plates, etc. but please clean all the things that you use, using the dishwashing liquid and sponge provided.

To use the stove:

Please turn the respective gas nob to the left, holding it for about 2 seconds to ignite the fire, and then rotate to the heat intensity that you want. Of course, please never leave cooking unattended; always turn off the stove before you leave.

HOW TO GET TO HAKONE FROM OUR APARTMENT:

Walk about 10 minutes to Numazu station from our apartment. Take the train to Mishima station (1 stop away, 5 minutes).
From Mishima station:
Take the bus from Mishima Station, SOUTH exit to Hakone-machi or Moto-Hakone (bus line N, operated by Numazu Tozan Tokai Bus) every hour. I recommend the bus to Moto-Hakone. The one-way journey from Mishima to Moto-Hakone takes about 50 minutes and costs 1030 yen. The Hakone Free Pass is valid on these buses. The following passes are available:
for the Hakone Free pass (valid for 2 days) from Mishima station.
4500 yen for the Hakone Free pass (valid for 3 days) from Mishima station.
*More details on the free pass: (URL HIDDEN)

A recommended course to go around Hakone (anti-clockwise course):

Take the bus from Mishima station to Moto-Hakone station.
Go on a nice stroll from Moto-Hakone to Hakone-machi. Places to visit in the area: the Checkpoint Museum, Detached Palace Garden and the Ancient Cedar Avenue are located along this attractive walk from Hakone-machi to Moto-Hakone. Alternatively you could continue to Moto-Hakone by boat or take a bus.
Take the Hakone Sightseeing Boat from Hakone-Machi to Togendai.
Take the ropeway from Togendai to Sounzan.
Take the Hakone Tozan Cable Car from Sounzan to Gora.
Take the Hakone Tozan Railway from Gora to Hakone-Yumoto OR if you would like to head straight back to Numazu earlier, go from Gora to Mishima station via bus/buses. Then take the train on the Tokaido line (in the direction of Shizuoka) from Mishima station back to Numazu station.

*More details on the course (with the following link being in the OPPOSITE (URL HIDDEN)

Incredible views of Mt. Fuji and the city of Numazu (Kanuki Park)

You can use our two race bicycles if you would like to too, but please let us know whether you would like to use them via message a few days before your arrival so that we can perform any maintenance required on them. The black bicycle is a race bike, and the combination for the lock is: 1130. The light blue bicycle is a crossroad bike, and the combination is: 4757. Please be sure to LOCK the bikes every time you park them. In Japan, bicycles are often stolen.

From Numazu station, head straight South on the main drive until you see a crossing of a silver, metallic bridge on your left. After crossing the bridge, take a right and walk one block and turn to the left. Walk four blocks until you reach the intersection of highway 414. Cross over the highway and continue going down the same direction until you reach a T, right in front of the Reizan-ji Buddhist Temple. Take a left and then take a quick right and continue to walk for one block until you reach another T. Make a left and you will reach a fork. Take a right and head down the windy road to the top for an incredible view of Numazu and Mt. Fuji! Be sure you climb to the observatory deck.

See you next time!
