Hi, I live in Wisconsin but am from California. I've used airbnb a lot in my travels around the world and in the US; however, my husband has usually booked through his account. So, while I look like a newbee, I'm really not. I love airbnb because it affords me all the luxury of a hotel without the confines of a hotel, if you know what I mean. I get to cook and lounge in a living room and the price is usually a lot less. There is also something special about staying in a lived-in space that someone is kind enough to share with me. I like to travel in a non-touristy way. I like to plop myself into the heart of a city and start feeling my way around looking for coffee shops and novel foods. Boutique shops and artsy spaces attract me. Bicycle riding around parks and neighborhoods are a great way to explore a city. These are some of the things I like to do.
