An unique accommodation alternative, a destination which is unlike any other in Bathurst! The living room is like a "New York Warehouse", though this place functions for you as a two bedroom home, with a bathroom, kitchen and laundry. It is great for families with children over the age of 12yr old, as parts of the house are currently being renovated. One thing to consider, the main living space is huge and not as warm as some would like.

I will let a recent guest describe Old Parish Hall.....
"This property is stunning - original (and yes that does mean don't expect central heating!) the tall ceilings, striking windows and large Parish hall make this an extraordinary find, if you like and appreciate historic buildings - and if you are a group (ie 4 persons) you would have wonderful and ambient dinner parties and evenings........... Philip is very attentive and thoughtful to his guests needs, on my first night I was arriving in the dark, and was very grateful to find the lights and the heaters on! Very close to Bathurst, easy to get to, no issues with parking - absolutely recommend a visit here, and yes - it is under renovation, the very generous prices reflect this - but only in certain areas, and I found my visit both comfortable and enjoyable, and a great way to experience a heritage building in it's original form."
During the winter months it is cold in Bathurst. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms are heated with plug in heaters. They make those areas warm, however, the main living room is not heated at present, as I am working on this. So if central heating is your thing, maybe Old Parish Hall is not suitable for you.
The only areas that you cannot access is my bedroom and the study. The bathroom is a period restoration, and you are welcome to soak in a hot full length bath. The building is on two acres.

Thanks for reading this far, at present I am working full-time, travelling a lot and renovating this piece of history. With all this action, I am finding that I cannot greet guests on their arrival. However when I am around, I can give you lifts or advise you on ideal places to visit.
Whether you are an historian or a car lover, Bathurst has a lot to offer, whether it is Jazz at Abercrombie House, (check dates) a tour of the History Musuem, the Fossil Musuem, the Motor Racing Musuem, or walking around the grounds of the Courthouse, or maybe a trip out to the old goldfields of Hill End, Sofala . Or just maybe a morning morsel at the Hub in Keppel St, or a bit of stunning pizza at Church Bar (walk down the lane where the Ribbon Gang were hung (10 of them).
Just a recent observation, I have noticed that guests who are young in their hearts and attitude, really enjoy and love their stay. However, guests who are more world weary, tend to have small issues with some details, like mismatched cutlery, or the fact there is a some renovating left to do. Yes, they enjoy their stay, but....If these things will worry you, there are other places to stay.

I am still restoring the place, so on occasion, I need to drop in, (I will call you first, if I escort a tradesman into the house). When I know you are coming I will do my utmost to make sure all works stop. However, there may be specialist trades in attendance that I cannot move around. I will make sure that your room is immaculate.
In regards to the bedlinen and towels, these are provided.
I want people to enjoy their stay, but this is my home. Whilst you can have your family and friends visit, do this during the day, not at night.
Just a word on security of your room. Once you are in the room, you can lock the door. However you cannot lock the door from the outside when you leave the house.
Why, well I don't lock any of my interior doors, and you have access to all my stuff, and do not want to put locks everywhere.
