The quaint and charming little garden house is located in the beautiful seaside village of Noordwijk, only a two minute walk from the sea. You will be pleasantly surprised to find such a tranquil place within walking distance from the centre of the village. It is a small and cosy gardenhouse which is perfect for two adults. The owners have built this garden house themselves and have created a very special place with many personal touches. For example, the banister is made of a branch that was found by their children. Downstairs there is a small but compact kitchen and a toilet and shower area. The upperfloor has a comfortable double bed. With nice weather, you can sit outside in front of the garden house to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. A TV and DVD player are available. There is no cable for television but you probably won't even miss it as there is so much to do in the village and its surrounding area.
Whether it is a warm, summer day or not, the beach of Noordwijk is always a lovely place to visit. At the beach there are several beautiful beach pavillions with good restaurants and on the boulevard there are many inviting terraces. The beach of Noordwijk is also well known for its water sport activities. If you are looking for something a bit more culturel or feel like going to a movie, the theatre is only a 10 minute walk from the garden house. The shopping street with its many boutiques and a supermarket is a 5 minute walk. A bowling centre and minigolf are also nearby. The wellness centre Azzurro with a gym is also within walking distance. If you are interested in horse riding there is a small stable within walking distance and larger stables nearby. The boulevard in Noordwijk is the departure point for the well-known and beautiful flower parade in April. Many other cultural events take place on the boulevard such as a painters festival and street horse races.
Noordwijk is situated in the centre of the 'Bollenstreek', the flower area. It is a perfect location to cycle along the colourful fields in spring. The famous Keukenhof (large flower garden park) is only 15 minutes away by car. There are many cycling and walking routes through the dunes to other villages like Katwijk and Zandvoort. The nearby towns of Warmond and Wassenaar are great places to visit. You can hire a bike, tandem or a scooter in their street. The historical city of Leiden is only 30 minutes away by bus (the bus stop is a 3 minute walk from the garden house). In Leiden, a university city, you can find a wide variety of museums, restaurants and cafe’s, and there is a nice market in the city centre every Saturday and Wednesday. From Leiden you can catch a train to Amsterdam (30 minutes) or Den Haag (10 minutes).
