Lodge Description: The lodge is a restored farmhouse that is spacious enough for large groups and families. The first floor contains the kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The second floor has 5 additional bedrooms and a second bath. There is also an enclosed porch/mud room for storing your outerwear and as a staging area to prepare for your ride. The living room serves as the main gathering place at Beaver Creek Lodge. It has plenty of seating, a fireplace, HDTV and library. Adjacent to the living room, the dining room offers a large table that seats 8+. It also serves as a gathering place and is perfect for board or card games. Our full kitchen is complete with all the appliances and utensils needed for your stay. It features a full size refrigerator & stove, and also includes a microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The kitchen also has a table for additional seating and a full size washer & dryer (free) should you need them.
Property: The lodge has a circular driveway with easy access from the road, providing easy access for vehicles with trailers. We are right on the snowmobile/4-wheel trail network, enabling you to ride right from your door, which obviously makes us popular for snowmobiling and ATVing. Our property is approximately 400 acres, and is adjacent to Granger State Forest and Pickney State Forest. Without having to drive you can hunt on our lands or the state forests, totaling over 6400 acres.
Guest have access to the entire lodge and all 400 acres during your stay. Guests do not have access to outbuildings, and field access is restricted (no vehicles spring/summer/fall) to avoid crop damage of ongoing farming operations.

Beaver Creek Lodge is self check-in/check-out. Guests are given detailed instructions after payment. Owner is remote, but is available by cell for questions/issues. Housekeeper is 1 mile away for emergencies.
In order to make your stay safe and enjoyable, as well as those of future visitors, we ask that you follow these simple rules:
Please take work shoes and boots off downstairs. Please keep muddy or snowy footwear on the porch.
Make sure the damper is open before starting a fire, and keep the fire under control. Do not leave the living room with a fire burning, and make sure the fire has burned down before turning in for the night. Also, make sure any fires in the fireplace are out and the stove is off before leaving for the day.
Help us conserve energy and keep our costs down- turn the thermostat down to 54 degrees if you are going to be gone all day, and especially at the end of your stay.
No smoking throughout the house, and no food or drink in the bedrooms. Please smoke outside, or on the covered porch (winter).
Put all empty cans and bottles in the designated cans on the porch. The waste can in the kitchen is for paper & food garbage only (no cans/bottles).
Don’t move the furniture- help us protect the floors.
Do not light or use the grill on the porch. If you are going to use the grill, move it into the driveway before lighting the charcoal.
Socializing is expected, roughhousing will not be tolerated. If you deliberately destroy something, you will be asked to replace it. That said, things wear out and break. If that happens during your stay, please leave a note on the bulletin board in the kitchen so we can have it replaced.
Be safe on the trails- whether you are snowmobiling or 4-wheeling, stay on the trails, and keep your speed in check. Be aware of the fence lines and beaver dams. Our property has a number of wire fences that are hard to see. Springs and running water can create soft ice and be very dangerous.
Our fields are actively being farmed. Leave gates as you found them. If you are 4-wheeling, stay out of our fields to avoid causing crop damage.
Route 194 is closed to snowmobile and ATV traffic. Both McGowan/Grant and Tontarski roads are open, and connect to the rest of the trail network. Use the connector trail behind the house to get to McGowan road. The Lewis County Sheriff’s department frequently patrols route 194, and will issue a summons if you are on Rt. 194.
Beaver Creek Lodge was created in the late 1980's by Robert Whipple, a consummate farmer and outdoorsman from Knox, NY who loved the beauty of the Tug Hill region. Bob envisioned a place where one could come and enjoy the bounty of nature's offering, while staying in a place with all the comforts of home. Whether you come for hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, skiing, fishing, communing with nature or just plain escaping the normal grind, Beaver Creek Lodge offers the perfect home base. Today, that vision is continued by Bob's children, who invite you to come experience Tug Hill and Beaver Creek Lodge.
