We have two Airbnb guest rooms, next to one another. Both rooms are usually booked.
Our charming Guest Room #1, the Justine room, has two twin beds and accommodates two people comfortably. In a pinch, we can put an air-mattress on the floor for a third person, but it will be a bit crowded.
Guest Room #2, the Runswick Bay room has a double bed and sleeps two. There is room on the floor for an air mattress, which we can provide.
The bathroom next to the guest rooms is "semi-private." There is only one bathroom on the second floor which we normally use ourselves, but when we have guests we will primarily use the bathroom on the first floor, so that you will have privacy. And we keep it squeaky clean.
There is a second half-bathroom on the first floor which is conveniently located for our guests.
We have a comfortable library/guest lounge with a piano and wood-burning fireplace, and cable TV. It's available for your use 24 hours a day during your stay. There is also a cozy breakfast nook where we provide continental breakfast, as well as tea and coffee throughout the day. In the summertime guests can enjoy sitting or eating on the old-European-feel terrace.
You are welcome to use our kitchen during your stay - so long as you clean up after yourself. If you would like to have dinner with us, we welcome you, but it's on a catch-as-catch-can basis (i.e., when Kate is cooking). She focuses on eclectic healthy eating, leaning toward vegetarian. Dinner charge is $20 per person (including wine).

Children are very welcome.
Cats welcome, but no dogs. Sorry - the resident cat has put her foot down.
No smoking indoors. You can smoke on the front porch or the terrace.
Long-term guests are responsible for keeping the room tidy - we provide once-a-week cleaning and bedding changes at no additional charge.
We're an older couple living in too much space for two people and a cat. Alex is British, Kate is American. We enjoy meeting new people and sharing our home and good conversation and good wine. We also enjoy traveling, particularly to Turkey and Australia and the UK, and we spend almost as much time away as we do at home.
We're both avid readers and love discussing books with other aficionados. Alex is a former rugby player and cricketer and loves all sports. Kate is a world-champion professional tournament bridge player. She also has a small business called Eclectica, where she designs, creates and sells her hand-crafted jewelry (
We speak only English, but Alex can manage simple conversations in French, and Kate can bumble around in Turkish.
We are Unitarians and our life motto, if we have such a thing, would be the Unitarian Benediction with which we close our services each Sunday:
Go in peace, speak the truth, give thanks each day.
Respect the earth and her creatures, for they are alive like you.
Care for your body; it is a wondrous gift.
Live simply. Be of service.
Be guided by your faith and not your fear.
Go lightly on your path.
Walk in a sacred manner.
I'm sad to tell you that Alex passed away in March. I haven't changed the website yet - it's too soon. He is so much a part of this home that we're not ready to let go of him just yet. The household is therefore somewhat different than described above. But I will do my best to carry on Alex's spirit of warm welcoming hospitality.
