“The sleek exterior of Kansas City’s Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, designed by Gunnar Birkerts, only hints at the activity within its walls. The open, light-filled atrium provides a striking setting for art activities at the Museum, which are accessible to all, free of charge, year-round. ”

Környék
“Built in 1922, the Country Club Plaza is one of this country's architectural and cultural treasures. J.C. Nichols chose a Spanish theme for the Plaza that included beautiful courtyards, red tile roofs and ornate towers. A number of promotions began during the Depression as a way to generate business and attract customers. 1930 marked the first year of the Plaza Lighting Ceremony. The Plaza Easter Bunnies made their debut in 1931. The first Plaza Art Fair began in 1932. The Plaza has evolved and many celebrated national stores joined the unique local shops. The entire 15-block district, with more than 120 shops and dozens of fine restaurants and cafes, makes shopping and dining an enjoyable pastime. The Plaza is kept lively with a year-round calendar of special events, including the famous Plaza Lights and the widely recognized Plaza Art Fair. It is understandable that nearly 100 years later, the Country Club Plaza is still the Midwest's premier shopping and dining destination.”

Shopping Plaza
“Restaurants & Shopping, some call it the "Rodeo Drive of the Midwest". Take in the sights and sounds of this 15-block area with a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride or a gondola float on the adjacent Brush Creek. When the holidays roll around, the Plaza Lights are an eight-decade sensation and the annual Plaza Art Fair each fall presents the country’s top visual artists.”

“This is the cheaper, more low-key (and cheaper) version of the Power and Light district. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, and live bands playing. A good place to walk around and try something different. ”
