Take a private tour of a Siza Vieira house

Explore one of Álvaro Siza Vieira’s first architectural masterpieces, a cluster of four houses built north of Porto in 1956 and 1957, in an exclusive tour with me, the owner. My grandparents commissioned the house, and I recently restored it with the architect’s help. • I’ll welcome you to my home with a glass of port wine and share the history of the architect’s “Quatro Casas” project, a revolutionary architectural statement at the time of its construction. • Take a tour of the interior, noting the original details Siza Vieira designed in the 1950s and the home's spectacular window staircase. • Hear about how the house reflects the architect’s philosophy, and what it was like to work with him 65 years later to restore it. This visit is an extraordinary chance to see an early work by one of Portugal’s finest architects.

Pastel de Nata / Workshop From Scratch in Porto

Learn how to make the famous "Pastel de Nata" from scratch, being one of the only workshop where you will make the dough too, so that you can return home and enjoy the traditional Portuguese pastries made by you. While learning how to bake traditional pastries, you can taste a regional wine and learn about Portuguese culture and history through a gastronomic conversation. Once it's ready, it's time to enjoy the learning results with some warm pastries! In this experience, the host will give participants the opportunity to alternately participate in the different phases of making the pastel de nata. Groups can have up to 12 participants. It is mandatory to arrive at least 10 minutes early as entry is not permitted after we have started, that is at the predicted scheduled time. We don't open exceptions. This is a group workshop for adults, not children. Children under 15 are not allowed to join for logistical and safety reasons. Only participants with a reservation can enter the space, companions are not allowed, regardless of age.

The Art of Azulejos Porto

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFO * *The tiles you paint during the workshop will need to be fired in a ceramic oven and WILL BE READY FOR COLLECTION THE DAY AFTER THE WORKSHOP BETWEEN 4 PM AND 5 PM. You can arrange to collect them on another day during our opening hours (please check them on Googl_ Maps).* * Covering facades with tiles became very popular in Portugal during 19th and 20th centuries and is now one of the most beautiful and unique heritages of the world. During this Tile Painting Workshop you will learn the highlights of the history of this heritage, how this beautiful tiles were painted traditionally and will have the chance to paint tile replicas of Porto (or your own design). This workshop is perfect for tile lovers. You will take home the best memory of your trip to this beautiful city. Every participant will paint 2 tiles. Don't worry, no artistic skills are required :) IMPORTANT - This workshop is suitable for children +10. - Due to limited space, additional individuals who were not included in the original booking may not be present in the workshop. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. - We have a dog, Ulisses, who is sometimes in the workshop. He is small and friendly. If you prefer him not to be there please let us know in advance :) * These workshops are made to support our project azulejosporto, a non-profit catalogue of Porto facade tiles.
