“Most anyone in Barcelona has a love-hate relationship to Les Rambles. It's something of a must. On the street you'll find some markets, kiosks and tons of restaurants that fill up with tourists - in the high season, you're unlikely to see many locals at all. Despite this, it's still the main drag through the city and full all year round.”

“In Spanish “granja” means farm, and in Barcelona a trip to Granja M. Viader means you’re in for a chocolate treat. At Granja M. Viader, guests can order up churros and melted chocolate, a classic Spanish treat. Granja M. Viader isn’t just a sweet shop. It’s also a historic site, dating back to the mid 1800s when it did in fact operate as a farm in Barcelona. If it’s a hot day and warm thick chocolate sounds too intense, try one of the milkshakes. They’re just as thick the melted chocolate but will still cool you off.”

“Si pasas por el Mercat de la Boqueria no te dejes atraer por las paradas Take Away, acércate un poco más a los sabores locales, siéntate en la barra de la Cafetería Pinotxo y pide un café con leche y un tradicional Xuxo. // If you pass by the Mercat de la Boqueria, don't stay only in front of the Take Away shops, get closer to the local flavours, sit down at the bar of the Pinotxo Cafeteria and order a café con leche and a traditional Xuxo.”

Point of Interest
“The iconic outdoor food market on the Ramblas. Make sure you make your way past the first wave of stands which cater predominately to tourists since they sell cut fruit and juices. This market has changed a lot over the years as it has become more of a tourist attraction than a real market for locals. At the back, many small restaurants that sell tapas with countertop service have opened. I have yet to try them since I have never been able to get a place to sit, but some of them have been there for years and are well known. If you are not a fan of hoards of people in a small space, you may want to just walk around the exterior to get a feeling for the place. ”
