Explore Seattle’s street art with a local muralist

Experience the historic and contemporary murals at the heart of Seattle’s urban identity with me, a working street artist and muralist, on a 90-minute tour of Pioneer Square and Belltown. • I’ll welcome you in Pioneer Square and show you 15 murals that encapsulate the vibrancy of the street art scene. I’ll explain about their context and significance. • Catch a public bus to Belltown, passing a few more of the neighborhood’s most famous works along the way, to see another 10 murals and discuss the stories behind them. • Head to my studio at Base Camp Studios for an inside look at my creative process and the chance to ask me any more questions about street art. You’ll leave with a zine recapping the highlights of the day, and a deep appreciation for the ever-evolving role of graffiti and muralism in Seattle’s artistic landscape.

Step into the colorful world of risograph printing at my studio near the scenic Seattle Center. Using your own photo of the Space Needle, we’ll create vibrant, one-of-a-kind prints that capture the magic of this landmark. • Begin with a quick photoshoot around the Space Needle, capturing your favorite angles and perspectives with your iPhone. Then we’ll head to my studio for a coffee and to dive into risograph history and process. • Learn how to transform your chosen photo into a two-color risograph print. I’ll guide you step by step, introducing this sustainable, eye-catching printing technique known for its vivid colors and unique textures. •You’ll take home 10 two-color prints of your photo. You can send them out as postcards or mini prints for your wall! You’ll leave with hands-on knowledge of risograph printing, a set of stunning custom prints, and a new way to appreciate Seattle’s iconic Space Needle.

Relive the grunge years in the heart of Seattle’s scene

Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the music world turned its spotlight on Seattle, where bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam were blowing minds and speakers with grunge rock. I'll guide you around my neighborhood, the epicenter for this music scene. • We'll meet up at Bon Voyage Vintage, my store, where you'll have a chance to dress up in the fashion of the grunge era, and I'll talk about how the Seattle grunge scene erupted. • Then we'll embark on a walking tour of Pioneer Square, stopping in at grunge landmarks like the OK Hotel, featured in the 1992 film Singles, and the Central Saloon, the site of Nirvana’s first Seattle show. • We'll also stop at Nord Alley, where we'll re-create a famous Nirvana photo with you in your flannel shirt and ripped jeans. Before we part ways, I'll give you a map of more Seattle rock landmarks so you can continue to explore grunge history.

PHOTOSHOOT DETAILS: - We'll go to Pike Place Market AFTER HOURS, a must-see area for visitors. - We'll walk through the market to 5 of my personal favorite photo hotspots (exact locations may vary) - I'll use my Sony A7iii to take pictures of you NEED TO KNOW: - Photoshoots typically are closer to 30-45 minutes depending on group size - If you booked for a group, you can take pictures together, separate or both! Any combos are fine with me! - I'll be giving very easy posing instructions, but you're welcome to do any of your own poses - Unedited/RAW pictures will not be sent - Road is brick/cobblestone and we will encounter some moderate hills along the way so beware of wearing heels! This is a MUST SEE area for visitors! We'll take pictures at the legendary "Public Market Center" sign, the Gum Wall, and explore the market for more picture-worthy hotspots! Want a sneak peek of what photos will look like? Follow me on social media at "Cameron Thomsen Photography". I will be snapping shots during our excursion to capture every moment of your fun-filled experience! If there are multiple people or families in the group, we will rotate in and out to make sure everyone gets pictures in each location! At the end, you'll end up with around 40-50 edited* pictures(per person) sent digitally. These pictures will be full resolution. As an experienced cinematographer, I know how to capture those picture-perfect moments in a short and sweet photoshoot. • After you book, I’ll help you choose a time slot based on the style of photos you want. Depending on the weather, you’ll get dramatic, atmospheric shots or sunny, warm photographs. A sunset session is always popular for golden-hour vibes. • Don’t worry if you’ve never done this before. Before our shoot, I’ll create a mood board with inspiration and poses for you. • On the day of the shoot, we’ll take time to get to know each other so you feel comfortable before diving into our shoot. • Please, message me, if you would like to schedule a couple or a family photoshoot experience for a specific time. Forest hike to Twin and Snoqualmie Falls

This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (also a few inclines for 7 minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls which we drive right up to. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.4 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

Electric Bike Tour Seattle

We ride electric bikes, these are fat-tire RadPower Mini and step-thru Mini, they are accessible for almost all riders. Must be 16 years old to operate the electric bike. Although the electric motor helps a lot with Seattle’s hills, you do have to pedal. At times, it can be the exercise equivalent of a brisk walk and on other points along the route it’s a pleasant stroll. Some riders may find the bikes and terrain a challenge. If you are an active bike rider you will have no problems with the electric bike. First stop is at the Olympic Mountains and Sound Viewpoint, here I give an overview of the waterway and the geology of Seattle. We travel through the Ballard Locks and visit the fish ladder. Other options include the Fremont Troll, Gasworks Park, and Fishermen's Terminal. There are ways to customize the routes whenever possible. Other things to note: First part of the tour is learning how to ride an ebike. There are bags on each bike for caring personal items. Wear bright colors to increase visibility. Sunglasses are also handy.

Experience Glass Project

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like.
