Our Favorite Day Hikes Near Black Mountain
Here is a list of the best walking and hiking options located in or very near Black Mountain
Just 10 minutes from the house, the Montreat trails are top notch. Lookout is one of our favorites, it is short and steep with an amazing view. For a bigger challenge, checkout Greybeard Trail. They have a great website with a description of all of the trails and there is a map of the trails in the information center in the rental.

This small Liberal Arts College is a short 15 minute drive from the house and offers several well maintained trails.

This lesser known trails system has several trails. Some are relatively flat but the real payoff is the steeper trails that will get your heart thumping as you ascend to some amazing views of the Swannanoa Valley.

The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 15 minutes from the house and from there the options are limitless but there are several great trails that can be accessed close in.
