There is no shortage of great places to eat in Edinburgh, to suit all budgets. Here we have listed our personal favourites, focussing on Leith and our immediate neighbourhood.
Michelin-calibre food without the price-tag or the formality. Calm, stylish space, very friendly and knowledgeable service, inventive, delicious and superbly executed cooking. The menu changes regularly, and there is a very reasonable fixed-priced lunch on Fridays and Saturdays.

Dunbar is a lovely fishing village that can be reached by car or by bus from Edinburgh. Also the hometown of John Muir, founder of the Sierra Club, whose home has been turned into a museum. On Tuesdays and Thursday from Many until the end of September The Big Blu pizza van parks in the Harbour and serves up some of the best wood-fired pizza you're likely to try anywhere (check them out on Facebook for their schedule)
