Sister restaurant to the Gastown location. The location isn't as "romantic" but this one makes up for it with the energy. Again, fantastic vegetarian fare and I always get The Lovely bowl.

Interesting brunch and breakfast fare - try the kimchi pancakes if you're feeling daring, or just stick to a standard "trucker's breakfast". Longer lines the later you go, as the case with all Vancouver brunch spots.

Great, drinkable beer in a nice vibe. Live music is common, as are food trucks outside. I like 33 Acres of Sunshine! They also have a notable weekend breakfast starting at 10am. Get there when they open for awesome poached eggs&toast.

An actual 1940s style tiki bar, with some of the best cocktails you've ever had. Classic Mai Tais, Zombies, Paralyzers... served by friendly staff wearing grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts. It sounds campy until you experience the tradition, community, and liveliness. Be sure to book a table in advance through their website/yelp, and go with a group to get the Mystery Bowl!

A beach with better sand and fewer crowds than Kitsilano. If it's too full, walk up to Locarno and Spanish Banks quite easily. At low tide, you can almost walk out far enough to touch the boats!

Cute island town with nice shopping, but also some great hikes of varying lengths and coastal views. If hiking, be prepared with proper gear and lots of water. Pro tip: During summer, book a ticket with "English Bay Launch" for your return ferry to Granville Island instead of BC Ferries.
