Coffy Cafe is really the only spot I can think of in Columbia Heights that serves crêpes, so it has become our go-to spot for some delicious butter and sugar and Nutella crêpes. There's plenty of cozy seating inside and it's unique 60s themed vibe distinguishes itself from other cafes in the area.

Really amazing and authentic Thai food in a beautiful setting. You'll typically need a reservation, and they have a prefix menu, which changes everyday. You can request vegetarian and BYOB. We have a lot of good Thai food in DC, but locals get excited most about this place.

It's located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, so not quite walking distance from the apartment, but you can get there by metro or Uber.
