Sightseeing
Our house is a 10 minute walk from this beautiful, expansive park full of huge luscious trees. They also have a playground, two disc golf courses, a dog park, and access to the Greenway, which is a paved trail that goes around the rivers. in the winter they have free cross-country ski rental, ice skating, snow shoe, and sled rentals! There's also a decent sized hill there to sled down. we highly recommend a walk around the Greenway!

This is our number one favorite restaurant in Grand Forks! They have a seasonal, rotating menu with fun classic American dishes such as burgers and steaks, as well as some more interesting eats such as camel burgers and duck breast. They are amazing for food allergies, and every time we've eaten their service has been excellent and everything has felt fresh.

drivers can be EXTREMELY courteous
Don't be surprised to find that drivers let you go even when they have the right of way. North Dakotans are known for being nice, so even if you show up second to a stop sign, be on the lookout for someone to wave you to go first. And if they do, just receive it.

in case you get a parking ticket
The city of Grand Forks always waves the first parking ticket fee, so make sure to give them a call and tell them that it was your first time. again, North Dakotans are super nice!

Grand forks is incredibly easy to navigate with the exception of the "construction season" which can be the half of the year without snow on the ground. be prepared to follow detours if you are here in the non-winter months.

bring layers!
For those who have never traveled to the tundra in the winter, make sure to pack warm things for your extremities, including hats, mittens, and good socks. Even in the non-winter months our weather can be very extreme, so we always recommend bringing layers and options. it is an uncommon for a temperature change of 40° in one day.
