City/town information
Madrid is our second home. A historic mining town, most of our friends live here. It is a special little place. Artists and other entrepreneurs who cannot afford commercial spaces in Santa Fe, but want to live in the area often end up here.
I show my photography at the Roadrunner Gallery in the middle of town. Go by and see my work (you've already seen some of it!) and say hello to Dale McDonnell, one of the nicest people around.

Food scene
Go see Monika up at the Cantina. Stroll down the covered walkway and check out the historical photographs. Take a seat at the longest bar (and one of the oldest) in New Mexico. Order the award-winning Mad Chile Burger.
Rachel & I play music here once a month (Strangers From Afar). Live music nearly every day. The owners are good friends of ours and they really put a lot of thought and effort into the place.

So from a chef (me), if you are venturing out in Santa Fe for dinner, this is your first stop. There will be a wait. There's a reason for that. Best food in town. I recommend one of their many margaritas, then a trio (queso, guac, salsa) and the Chicken Enchiladas - Christmas (half red, half green chile).

Check out this funky little food spot on your walk around the town of Cerrillos or after your hike up at the state park. Lovely owners and great food. Hours are a little sporadic (hey, they want to have a life!) so check ahead.
